Gustin is currently pregnant, but the former soap star claims the child is not his.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated,\u201d Burton wrote on his Instagram story, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/05\/04\/general-hospital-alum-steve-burton-splits-from-pregnant-wife\/?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&#038;utm_source=NYPTwitter&#038;utm_medium=SocialFlow\"><span>Page Six<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cShe recently announced that she\u2019s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The 51-year-old actor went on to say he and Gustin will continue co-parenting their three children together. The family also requested privacy as they navigated through this difficult time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Burton and Gustin got married in 1999 and have two daughters \u2013 Makena, 18, and Brooklyn, 7, and a son, Jack, 16, together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Gustin had shared a photo of her baby bump on a recent Instagram story. The caption read, \u201cLife sure is full of surprises!\u201d Burton\u2019s public post was the first time either person mentioned their separation or paternity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Burton made headlines after getting fired from \u201cGeneral Hospital\u201d due to his refusal to get a COVID-19 vaccine. The Daily Wire <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/longest-running-soap-on-tv-sees-major-departures-due-to-vaccine-mandates\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span> that Burton had played \u201cGeneral Hospital\u201d mob boss Jason Morgan for 30 years before being let go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI wanted you to hear it from me personally. Unfortunately, \u2018General Hospital\u2019 has let me go because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions, and both of those were denied. Which, you know, hurts. But this is also about personal freedom to me. I don\u2019t think anybody should lose their livelihood over this,\u201d Burton shared in an Instagram story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBut with that being said, you know me, I\u2019ll always be grateful for my time at \u2018General Hospital.\u2019 I love it there. I grew up there. I grew up with some of you\u2026Maybe one day, if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Burton had allegedly already been infected with coronavirus and believed his natural immunity would be sufficient, but his former employer disagreed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Twitter followers pointed out that Gustin had posted her pregnancy announcement without context, knowing people would be congratulating Burton and assuming he was the father.
