This comes after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\">Politico<\/a> leaked a draft opinion for the case <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em> that overturns landmark case <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a lengthy Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepBowman\/status\/1521520398726307840?s=20&#038;t=4OPT0TTi78JDg_eqFEL69Q\">thread<\/a>, Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) said that \u201cwe must expand the court to restore the legitimacy of the institution and protect the rights of millions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said that overturning Roe would \u201cfly in the face of decades of precedent.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Overturning Roe would put the lives of women across the country at risk. It would fly in the face of decades of precedent and the overwhelming majority of public opinion. Andy Levin released an official\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/andylevin.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/levin-defends-abortion-rights-calls-scotus-expansion\">statement<\/a> calling for the expansion of the Supreme Court.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cA ruling that fully overturns Roe v. Wade (or even severely undermines it) will affect millions of lives\u2014including many trans and non-binary people. States have already enacted legislation to criminalize abortion providers and patients,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe Senate must abolish the filibuster and pass the Women\u2019s Health Protection Act to codify Roe immediately and we must reform and expand the Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rep.
