Earlier this year, even a Washington Post fact-checker took issue with the administration\u2019s rhetoric on job growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd thanks to the American Rescue Plan,\u201d the post continued, \u201cthe U.S. is on track for the largest deficit cut in history this year: $1.3 trillion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As with the claim about job growth, the Democrats\u2019 assertion fails to account for COVID-19 \u2014 including President Donald Trump\u2019s $2.2 trillion CARES Act and Biden\u2019s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, both of which contributed to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/datalab.usaspending.gov\/americas-finance-guide\/deficit\/trends\/\"><span>ballooning deficits in 2020 and 2021<\/span><\/a><span>. It therefore seems that the Biden administration is counting the absence of blowout legislation as a victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After touting the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law \u2014 only 10% of which <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/where-does-all-that-money-go-breaking-down-bidens-trillion-dollar-infrastructure-package\"><span>actually funds roads and bridges<\/span><\/a><span> \u2014 the post continued, \u201cPresident Biden is laser-focused on lowering costs for Americans. His plan will ensure billionaires pay their fair share in taxes, continue our historic economic recovery, and bring down costs for working families.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Indeed, President Biden has overseen a once-in-a-generation inflation hike during his tenure \u2014 from 1.4% in January 2021 to 8.5% as of March 2022.
