The man reportedly was armed with a blade-firing fake gun, LAPD spokesperson Lizeth Lomeli stated, reported the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/04\/dave-chappelle-attacker-isaiah-lee-23-booked-for-felony-assault\/?utm_medium=SocialFlow&#038;utm_campaign=SocialFlow&#038;utm_source=NYPTwitter\">New York Post<\/a>, which added, \u201cLee was booked just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and held on $30,000 bail, records show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Footage surfaced on social media Wednesday showing a person running on stage and appearing to try to tackle Chappelle, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chappelle-assailant-had-knife-hidden-in-fake-gun-jamie-foxx-rushed-onto-stage-to-aid\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Someone rushed the stage and attacked Dave Chappelle during his Hollywood Bowl performance \u2026 and the surreal moment was caught on video. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kFf1BvJDvt\">https:\/\/t.co\/kFf1BvJDvt<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tQzrt6tMLj\">pic.twitter.com\/tQzrt6tMLj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TMZ (@TMZ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TMZ\/status\/1521866646595391488?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 4, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt was a trans man. \u2026 I am going to kill that n*****,\u201d Chappelle joked.<\/p>\n<p>During the incident, actor Jamie Foxx raced on stage to help Chappelle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShout out to Jamie Foxx by the way,\u201d Chappelle said, joined by Foxx during the curtain call, The Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10781055\/Dave-Chappelle-attacked-stage-LA.html\">reported<\/a>. \u201cWhenever you\u2019re in trouble, Jamie Foxx will show up in a sheriff\u2019s hat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought that was part of the show, I didn\u2019t know what the f***,\u201d\u00a0Foxx replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI grabbed the back of that n**** head,\u201d Chappelle joked. \u201cHis hair was spongy. Absorbent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen, I just want to say, this man is an absolute genius,\u201d Foxx said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got to make sure we protect him at all times. \u2026 For every comedian who comes out here, this means everything. You\u2019re a genius. You\u2019re a legend, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and we\u2019re not going to let nothing happen to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been doing this for 35 years,\u201d Chappelle replied, then joked. \u201cI just stomped a n**** backstage.
