Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>, and hammered the far-left for pushing radical policies in response.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgraham.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/press-releases?ID=76DC2328-E747-43D0-8919-E3B3CD9AF383\">statement<\/a> Tuesday, Graham said that the \u201cradical Left is hell-bent\u201d on imposing radical reforms on institutions that stand in the way of their agenda, like packing the Supreme Court, abolishing the filibuster, and instituting a federal takeover of elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a sad day for the Supreme Court and a dangerous day for the Rule of Law,\u201d Graham said. \u201cThe radical assault on our institutions and the Constitution itself has reached a new level with the release of a draft opinion on a major issue facing the Court. Whether you are a liberal, conservative or moderate, the integrity of the Court has been compromised by this outrageous act \u2013 an affront to the Rule of Law. For over two hundred years, the Supreme Court has been able to deliberate and build consensus without its decisions being compromised in this manner. This has been forever changed by this leak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A draft of the Supreme Court\u2019s opinion in\u00a0<em>Dobbs v. Jackson\u00a0<\/em>was leaked to Politico Monday, indicating that the Court is in position to overturn\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade.\u00a0<\/em>Politico described the opinion as a \u201cfull-throated, unflinching repudiation of [<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>] which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision \u2013 <i>Planned Parenthood v. Casey<\/i> \u2013 that largely maintained the right.\u201d In the opinion, Justice Samuel Alito contends that \u201c<em>Roe\u00a0<\/em>was egregiously wrong from the start\u201d and holds that it must be overturned, with the issue of legalizing abortion sent back to the states to determine.<\/p>\n<p>Graham also responded to calls from far-left Democrats in Congress for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/heres-how-dems-and-progressives-want-to-subvert-the-court-preserve-roe\">Court to be expanded<\/a> and for the filibuster to be broken in order to ram through legislation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-right-to-an-abortion-is-sacred-democratic-lawmakers-renew-calls-to-codify-roe\">codifying<\/a> the right to abortion into law. \u201cIn America, the radical Left is hell-bent on reshaping institutions that have stood in the way of the outcomes they desire,\u201d Graham said. \u201cThey want to pack the Supreme Court to change the current conservative nature of the Court which was achieved through the democratic process. They intend to abolish the Electoral College to shift power away from rural states to large, blue states. They would also have a federal takeover of our state election systems and undermine election integrity.\u00a0 The radical Left is now calling for the end of the Senate filibuster as a response to the draft opinion being released publicly. This only compounds the problem. Why destroy the Senate after this outrage against the Supreme Court\u2019s deliberative process? When it comes to outcomes, the radical Left will do whatever they view as necessary \u2013 institutions be damned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A number of prominent far-left Democrats, including Massachusetts Senators <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenMarkey\/status\/1521304604625059841\">Ed Markey<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ewarren\/status\/1521499804064526343?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1521499804064526343%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fheres-how-dems-and-progressives-want-to-subvert-the-court-preserve-roe\">Elizabeth Warren<\/a>, Vermont Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BernieSanders\/status\/1521308813059444736\">Bernie Sanders<\/a>, New York Congresswoman <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AOC\/status\/1521314683533524992\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>, and Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor and U.S. Senate candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JohnFetterman\/status\/1521299340169560065\">John Fetterman<\/a>, issued renewed calls to abolish the filibuster and pack the Supreme Court in response to the leaked decision.<\/p>\n<p>Graham ended his statement by praising the reported decision as a win for the Constitution. \u201cIf the Supreme Court overturns <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, which I believe was one of the largest power grabs in the history of the Court, it means that every state will decide if abortion is legal and on what terms.
