Wade<\/em> opinion was intended to intimidate and pressure the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it was really an attack on a lot of the justices,\u201d DeSantis said Tuesday afternoon. \u201cI think it was an intentional thing to try to whip up a lot of the public, try to make it very political, potentially try to bullying them into changing one of their positions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is not something that is appropriate for the judicial branch,\u201d he said. \u201cI know they launched an investigation, they need to figure out who did that, and they need to hold them accountable, because that is a real significant breach of trust.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor emphasized that he was \u201creally surprised\u201d that the leak took place, noting,\u00a0\u201cYou wanna talk about an insurrection, that\u2019s a judicial insurrection, to be taking that out and trying to kneecap a potential majority through kind of extra constitutional means.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cYou wanna talk about an insurrection, that\u2019s a judicial insurrection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Gov. Wade<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The draft majority opinion, which is not final, says <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> was egregiously wrong. \u201cWe hold that <i>Roe<\/i> and <i>Casey<\/i> must be overruled,\u201d Justice Samuel Alito wrote.\u00a0\u201cIt is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people\u2019s elected representatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The unprecedented leak has sent shockwaves throughout Washington, with many commentators noting that a draft decision has never been publicly released in the modern history of the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe leak appears to be totally political in nature, not only intended to damage the Court and pressure the justices, but more immediately to incite Democrats to push their laundry list of terrible anti-life ideas, including blowing up the filibuster and attempting to codify abortion violence at the federal level prior to the November elections,\u201d Katie Glenn, Government Affairs Counsel at Americans United for Life (AUL), told The Daily Wire late Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Chief Justice John Roberts\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/justice-roberts-abortion-leak-da48f1b2-087f-4a43-b037-068be226ce2c.html?stream=top&#038;utm_source=alert&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_campaign=alerts_all\">released<\/a>\u00a0a statement confirming that the draft document is real but emphasizing that it did not represent the Supreme Court\u2019s final decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe at the Court are blessed to have a workforce \u2014 permanent employees and law clerks alike \u2014 intensely loyal to the institution and dedicated to the rule of law,\u201d the chief justice said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here,\u201d he added, noting that he has \u201cdirected the Marshal of the Court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, sports, podcasts, in-depth analysis, books, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do.
