Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is promoting a primary opponent against a Texas Democrat as she asks voters to remove the last pro-life Democrat in the House.<\/p>\n<p>Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter on Tuesday to encourage people to support Texas Democratic hopeful Jessica Cisneros in an upcoming runoff election against Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar for the state\u2019s 28th District.<\/p>\n<p>The congresswoman said \u201chis challenger has a real shot, but needs help.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">And his challenger has a real shot, but needs help. Cassy Garcia, a former staff member of Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, garnered just over 23% of the primary vote. Republican Sandra Whitten was second, with 18.2% of the district\u2019s GOP vote.<\/p>\n<p>The district leans Democrat, meaning that the winner of the Democrat runoff will have the advantage in the November midterm election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCuellar was the only Democrat to vote against the Women\u2019s Health Protection Act, which passed the House in September and would repeal all abortion restrictions nationwide. Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) was his party\u2019s lone \u2018no\u2019 vote when the bill on Monday failed to advance in the Senate,\u201d the Washington Free Beacon <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/houses-last-pro-life-democrat-is-on-the-ropes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas congressman was also in recent headlines after the FBI raided his home in January over a potential investigation.
