Kristi Noem took to Twitter on Monday night to declare that if the Supreme Court\u2019s leaked report about overturning\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade\u00a0<\/em>is true, she will call a special session to protect the lives of unborn children.<\/p>\n<p>Noem shared the words following the release of a bombshell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> leaked on Monday evening by Politico that suggests the Supreme Court intends to return decisions regarding abortion laws to individual states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this report is true and Roe v. Wade is overturned, I will immediately call for a special session to save lives and guarantee that every unborn child has a right to life in South Dakota,\u201d Noem wrote.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">If this report is true and Roe v. Wade is overturned, I will immediately call for a special session to save lives and guarantee that every unborn child has a right to life in South Dakota. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oIiGibCP7B\">https:\/\/t.co\/oIiGibCP7B<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Kristi Noem (@govkristinoem) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/govkristinoem\/status\/1521303498545061889?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Tuesday, Supreme Court Justice John Roberts issued a statement confirming the validity of the leak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough the document described in yesterday\u2019s reports is authentic, it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case,\u201d Roberts wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed. She most recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gov-kristi-noem-introduces-two-pro-life-bills-on-march-for-life-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> two pro-life bills on the day of March for Life in January, as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Washington, D.C., for the annual protest.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The governor\u2019s office\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.sd.gov\/newsitem.aspx?id=28861\"><span class=\"s1\">announced<\/span><\/a>\u00a0the pieces of legislation, with one bill seeking to ban abortions once a child\u2019s heartbeat can be detected, and another looking to ban telemedicine abortions in the state.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cEvery human life is unique and beautiful from the moment it is conceived. Every life is worthy of our protection, worthy of the right to live,\u201d Noem said. \u201cWe hope that this year\u2019s March for Life will be the last and that the Supreme Court will finally protect every unborn life.
