Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The vice president issued an official statement upon learning that the leaked draft was genuine \u2014 a fact that was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/inside-job-roberts-launches-hunt-for-scotus-leaker-of-roe-reversal\/\">confirmed by Chief Justice John Roberts<\/a>, who ordered an investigation into the leak.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After Roe leak, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VP?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VP<\/a> Harris says now is &#8220;the time to fight for women and for our country with everything we have.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OrvdbDMhrI\">pic.twitter.com\/OrvdbDMhrI<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Philip Melanchthon Wegmann (@PhilipWegmann) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PhilipWegmann\/status\/1521529917674070018?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe United States Supreme Court has now confirmed that the draft opinion that would overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> is genuine,\u201d Harris wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Roe<\/em> ensures a woman\u2019s right to choose to have an abortion. It. Also, at its root, protects the fundamental right to privacy,\u201d Harris continued. \u201cWhat is clear is that the opponents of <em>Roe<\/em> want to punish women and take away their rights to make decisions about their own bodies. Republican legislators in states across the country are weaponizing the use of the law against women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rights of all Americans are at risk. If the right to privacy is weakened, every person could face a future in which the government can potentially interfere in the personal decisions you make about your life. This is the time to fight for women and for our country with everything you have,\u201d Harris concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The vice president\u2019s words echoed those of President Joe Biden, who said Tuesday he worried that overturning <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> could lead to the erosion of other rights for Americans.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2018It concerns me a great deal that we\u2019re gonna, after 50 years, decide that a woman does not have the right to choose\u2019 \u2014 Pres. Wade and how it could affect many other rights for Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ocR6Ycr8IA\">pic.twitter.com\/ocR6Ycr8IA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NowThis (@nowthisnews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nowthisnews\/status\/1521513296263888896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Harris\u2019 comments were also strikingly similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/i-see-fascism-down-the-line-joy-behar-bizarrely-claims-if-roe-goes-conservatives-might-bring-back-segregation\/\">those made by Joy Behar<\/a> on Tuesday\u2019s broadcast of the ABC midday talk show \u201cThe View.\u201d Behar warned that she could \u201csee fascism\u201d coming, arguing that if the court were to overturn Roe, conservatives would likely come for other issues like same sex marriage or even bring back segregation by overturning <em>Brown v. Board of Education<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Behar then claims the conservative justices will go after Brown v. We saw this coming. My worry that this is just the beginning, next they will go after gay marriage and maybe the Board v. \u2014 what is it, <em>Brown v. Board of Education<\/em>. They already eroded our voting rights a little bit.
