Wade, while Democrats called conservatives on the Court partisans and complained that abortion may not be as readily accessible.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Justice Samuel Alito\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-roe-v-wade-samuel-alito-politico\/\">draft<\/a> opinion in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\">Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/a> rules Roe \u201cegregiously wrong from the start.\u201d Politico\u2019s publication of the draft marks the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/edokeefe\/status\/1521291870516695043\">first<\/a> time in modern history that a draft Supreme Court opinion leaked while the justices were still considering their ruling. Republicans cheered the potential ruling, while blasting the leaker for attempting to influence the Court.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley described the leak as an \u201c<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">attempt to corrupt the process,\u201d adding that the justices should \u201cstay strong\u201d in their ruling.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The left continues its assault on the Supreme Court with an unprecedented breach of confidentiality, clearly meant to intimidate. The Justices mustn\u2019t give in to this attempt to corrupt the process. A leak of this magnitude must be condemned and, if warranted, investigated and prosecuted,\u201d Republican Illinois Rep. Rodney Davis said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/rodneydavis.house.gov\/posts\/davis-statement-on-leaked-draft-scotus-opinion-on-abortion-case\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Roe \u201cwas wrong from the beginning,\u201d and urged \u201cstates to enact pro-Life laws and protect the unborn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a former Supreme Court clerk for the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist, was \u201cappalled\u201d at the leak, calling it a \u201cshocking breach of trust.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">If this report is true, this is nothing short of a massive victory for life and will save the lives of millions of innocent babies.<\/p>\n<p>But while I continue to wait for the Supreme Court\u2019s ultimate opinion, I am appalled by the shocking breach of trust posed by this leak. 1\/x<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenTedCruz\/status\/1521325949811372033?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201c<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">This is a blatant attempt to intimidate the Court through public pressure rather than reasoned argument. I hope my fellow former clerks and the entire legal community will join me in denouncing this egregious breach of trust,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">I have no doubt that the Chief Justice will work to root out the radical activist that betrayed the sacred tradition of the court. The leaker must be immediately removed from their position and exiled from the legal community,\u201d Republican Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarshaBlackburn\/status\/1521441577272549378\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice John Roberts is <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/03\/justice-roberts-fbi-investigation-scotus-leak\/\">expected<\/a> to order an FBI investigation into the leak, according to CBS News. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-overturn-roe-v-wade-dobbs-jackson-womens-health-abortion\/\">(RELATED: \u2018Gravest, Most Unforgivable Sin\u2019: SCOTUS Leak Decried By Court Watchers)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In contrast, Democrats warned of the political consequences of the Court\u2019s ruling, with some describing the 2022 midterms as the most important elections ever.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are literally stripping the women of this country of their rights. If that happens, I think you\u2019re going to see repercussions like never before,\u201d Democratic Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amyklobuchar\/status\/1521325348356513793\">threatened<\/a>. \u201cThey have basically stacked the Court through various procedural games that they played in the Senate, and now is the moment, and now if this opinion gets issued as is, it\u2019s going to be state-by-state fights about this, with the automatic triggers going in place in many. And then it\u2019s going to be a decision for Congress, and it makes the election for the House and the Senate more important than any we\u2019ve seen in our lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Abolish the filibuster. Codify Roe. Expand the Supreme Court. Protect abortion rights by any means necessary. We need all of the above. This is an emergency,\u201d Democratic Missouri Rep. Sheldon Whitehouse re-upped his frequent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/07\/17\/senator-sheldon-whitehouse-speaks-dark-money-courts-event-american-constitution-society\/\">criticisms<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/17\/democratic-senator-claims-rant-during-barrett-confirmation-is-reason-court-upheld-obamacare\/\">Federalist Society<\/a>, while claiming that Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/15\/unpacking-jerry-nadler-defends-legislation-expand-supreme-court\/\">packed<\/a> the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">This decision would wipe that well-established precedent away, to give right-wing ideologues a political victory.
