As the defamation trial continues, a source claims that Heard\u2019s part in the movie has been reduced to \u201c10 minutes\u201d total.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Film journalist Grace Randolph shared the news of Heard\u2019s screen time getting cut. She\u2019s known to have insider info on these types of decisions, the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/02\/amber-heards-aquaman-2-role-sinks-to-10-minutes-firing-petition-reaches-3m\/\">shared<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI hear #AmberHeard has less than 10 min of screen time in #Aquaman2,\u201d she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GraceRandolph\/status\/1519734319388020736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1519734319388020736%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fnypost.com%2F2022%2F05%2F02%2Famber-heards-aquaman-2-role-sinks-to-10-minutes-firing-petition-reaches-3m%2F\"><span>tweeted<\/span><\/a><span>. This news came as the change.org <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/dc-entertainment-remove-amber-heard-from-aquaman-2\"><span>petition<\/span><\/a><span> to have the 36-year-old actress removed earned over 3 million signatures. The original goal of 3 million was changed to 4.5 million after they achieved the first hurdle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAquaman 2\u201d producer Peter Safran said in July 2021 that removing Heard\u2019s character would take more than an online petition and Twitter mob outrage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI don\u2019t think that we\u2019re ever going to react to, honestly, pure fan pressure. You gotta do what you feel is best for the movie. We felt that if it\u2019s [director] James Wan and Jason Momoa, it should be Amber Heard. That\u2019s really what it was,\u201d Safran told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2021\/07\/amber-heard-aquaman-2-johnny-depp-fans-1234802845\/\"><span>Deadline<\/span><\/a><span> at the time. It\u2019s worth noting this was before the revelations of the trial cast Heard in a new light.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cListen, one is not unaware of what is going on in the Twitterverse, but that doesn\u2019t mean you have to react to it or take it as gospel or accede to their wishes,\u201d the producer continued. \u201cYou have to do what you feel is right for the film, and that\u2019s really where we landed on it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Since then, the movie\u2019s release date was pushed from December 2022 to March 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cDo the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2,\u201d petition creator Jeanne Larson wrote in the document. At other points in the petition, Larson writes how Heard has \u201cbeen exposed as a domestic abuser\u201d and is guilty of \u201cmany examples of domestic abuse.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The petition noted specific incidents of abuse Depp allegedly suffered before getting labeled a domestic abuser and having his career decimated. The actor filed a $50 million defamation suit against his ex-wife because of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAbout the incident during which she shattered the bones in Johnny Depp\u2019s finger and nearly severed it, causing Depp to require surgery to reattach and repair it,\u201d the petition says in part. \u201cHe will bear the scar from that for the rest of his life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMen are victims of domestic abuse, just like women.
