A spokesperson for the Wichita Police Department (WPD) stated the department had no knowledge of such an incident.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Fentanyl is a growing problem in Wichita, according to local news reports. A pound of the drug was seized by Sedgwick County law enforcement in March, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wibw.com\/2022\/03\/19\/wichita-law-enforcement-seize-more-than-pound-fentanyl\/\"><span>WIBW<\/span><\/a><span>, a news station in Topeka, Kansas. The WPD also recently discovered 7,000 fentanyl pills during a March 28 traffic stop, local Wichita news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwch.com\/2022\/04\/04\/wichita-police-dea-seize-nearly-7000-illegal-fentanyl-pills-during-traffic-stop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KWCH<\/a>\u00a0reported.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>An April 13 Facebook post claims that five children died in a single day after overdosing on fentanyl-laced marijuana. The post features a screen grab of another Facebook post that reads in part, \u201cGot to work in Wichita today to find out 5 kids have died from Fentanyl laced Marijuana here and surrounding areas yesterday!\u201d<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2019\/05\/19\/fact-check-61-percent-drug-overdose-deaths-delaware-fentanyl\/\">(RELATED: Do 61 Percent Of Overdose Deaths In Delaware Involve Fentanyl?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>There are no mentions of the purported string of adolescent overdose deaths on the WPD\u2019s verified <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?f=top&#038;q=fentanyl%20overdose%20(from%3ASGCountySheriff)&#038;src=typed_query\"><span>social<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WichitaPolice\"><span>media<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sedgwick_county_sheriff_office\/\"><span>accounts<\/span><\/a><span>.
