No, not Elon Musk \u2014 President Joe Biden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Just as the billionaire entrepreneur moved to take over Twitter, Biden created the Orwellian-named \u201cDisinformation Governance Board,\u201d which (trust us) is going to ferret out misinformation and feed you all the yummy Soylent Green you need. Musk summed up America\u2019s sentiment in a single word: \u201cDiscomforting.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, top U.S. immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci said the U.S. is through the \u201cpandemic phase,\u201d only to be refuted by none other than top immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci, who said, yeah, no. And Biden stumbled into the headlines by telling teachers that children are \u201cyours when they\u2019re in the classroom.\u201d (Will we ever get rid of those pesky parents?!) Oh, Joe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here\u2019s your latest installment of Washington Wire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Biden\u2019s Orwellian Maneuver<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>President Joe Biden\u2019s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is working to create a \u201cDisinformation Governance Board\u201d to counter what they <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/is-federal-censorship-coming-biden-admin-creating-disinformation-governance-board-report\"><span>determine to be false information<\/span><\/a><span> relating to national security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Wednesday, Politico <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/playbook\/2022\/04\/27\/fauci-pulls-out-of-whcd-is-biden-next-00028131\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span> that DHS is creating the board \u201cto coordinate countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While Russia has certainly been guilty of putting out disinformation around the globe, American intelligence officials have also labeled factual information \u2014 like Hunter Biden\u2019s \u201claptop from hell\u201d \u2014 as Russian propaganda as well. Even the mainstream media now admit that the contents of that laptop were real.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nina Jankowicz will now reportedly head the new DHS board as executive director. Jankowicz was one of the prominent liberals who appears to believe that the laptop was Russian disinformation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) responded, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gop-leader-kevin-mccarthy-torches-biden-over-admins-new-orwellian-disinformation-governance-board\"><span>saying<\/span><\/a><span> that the move was \u201cOrwellian.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cLeave it to Democrats to think free speech is the problem and more government is the solution,\u201d McCarthy said in an exclusive statement to The Daily Wire. \u201cThe notion that the same party that spent four years promoting the Russia collusion hoax, suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story, and equated parents to domestic terrorists believes it has the credibility to tell Americans what is true is laughable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd it is telling that the person who would run Biden\u2019s Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board is a political activist who has a long history of falling for and spreading disinformation,\u201d McCarthy continued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt is easy to imagine this person abusing the term \u2018disinformation\u2019 to suppress facts and spin away inconvenient truths about the administration\u2019s many failures, including their failures to secure the border. The idea that the federal government should control speech sounds uncomfortably close to the Thought Police. Biden must immediately abandon his plan to create a modern-day Ministry of Truth,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) called for the immediate dissolution of the board in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/dissolve-this-monstrosity-immediately-josh-hawley-unloads-on-mayorkas-in-letter-demanding-the-end-of-disinformation-board\"><span>scathing letter<\/span><\/a><span> directed to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hawley tweeted screenshots of the letter, dated April 28, on Thursday morning with the following caption: \u201cThe Administration that activated the FBI against parents at school board meetings now has created a government Disinformation Board to monitor all Americans\u2019 speech. It\u2019s a disgrace. Joe Biden &#038; Secretary Mayorkas: dissolve this monstrosity immediately.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And then, billionaire and newly-minted social media mogul Elon Musk <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-weighs-in-on-bidens-misinformation-governance-board\"><span>weighed in<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe government is creating a misinformation governance board,\u201d comedian and conservative host Steven Crowder tweeted Thursday. \u201cWho else did something like that? Oh I remember, the Nazi\u2019s. And there\u2019s some data showing some interesting things going on post-[Elon Musk]\u2019s Twitter takeover!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cDiscomforting,\u201d Musk directly replied to the tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Fauci\u2019s Doublespeak<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Top U.S. immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fauci-pandemic-phase-of-covid-19-over-fauci-no-it-isnt\"><span>declared<\/span><\/a><span> last Tuesday that the \u201cpandemic phase\u201d of COVID-19 is over in the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>But that was refuted on Wednesday \u2014 by top U.S. immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Tuesday, Fauci sat down with Judy Woodruff of \u201cPBS NewsHour,\u201d who asked Fauci: \u201cHere we are. It\u2019s the end of April. It\u2019s the spring of 2022. How close are we to the end of the pandemic?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are certainly, right now, in this country out of the pandemic phase,\u201d Fauci replied. \u201cNamely, we don\u2019t have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSo, if you\u2019re saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country, we are,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>But on Wednesday, Fauci walked it all back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are in a different moment of the pandemic,\u201d Fauci told the Associated Press on Wednesday. While the U.S. has \u201cdecelerated and transitioned into more of a controlled phase\u201d of the virus, he added \u201cby no means does that mean the pandemic is over.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Despite Fauci\u2019s original assertion that the pandemic is over, CNN reported that he has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fauci-says-the-pandemic-phase-is-over-but-its-still-too-risky-for-him-to-attend-white-house-correspondents-dinner\"><span>backed out of plans<\/span><\/a><span> to attend the upcoming White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner \u2014 which he was scheduled to attend as a guest of ABC News.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHe recently decided to abandon those plans and inform ABC that he would no longer attend because of an individual assessment of his own personal risk,\u201d CNN reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In one other COVID-19 development, it turns out most of us have already had it \u2014 whether we know it or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A new study released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that a majority of Americans, both adults and children, have been infected with COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nearly 60% of adults and about 75% of children have coronavirus antibodies, indicating that they had been infected with COVID-19 and its variants, according to data collected from a study of blood samples across the country. That\u2019s a huge rise from December 2021, when just 34% of Americans had COVID-19 antibodies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Ministry of (Un)truth<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Biden on Wednesday <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/in-speech-honoring-gender-race-teacher-biden-tells-conservatives-to-stop-making-teachers-the-target-of-the-culture-wars\"><span>accused conservatives<\/span><\/a><span> of making teachers a \u201ctarget of the culture wars\u201d as he honored an Ohio educator who teaches high schoolers about race, gender, and oppression.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTeaching is one of the hardest jobs in this country,\u201d Biden said. \u201cToday, there are too many politicians trying to score political points trying to ban books\u2014even math books. I mean, did you ever think\u2026 that when you\u2019d be teaching you\u2019d be worrying about book burnings and banning books? All because it doesn\u2019t fit somebody\u2019s political agenda.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAmerican teachers have dedicated their lives to teaching our children and lifting them up,\u201d he said. \u201cWe ought to stop making them a target of the culture wars. That\u2019s where this is going.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Then Biden went further, repeatedly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-tells-teachers-children-are-yours-when-theyre-in-the-classroom\"><span>telling the teachers<\/span><\/a><span> gathered at the White House that school children are \u201clike yours when they\u2019re in the classroom.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThey\u2019re not someone else\u2019s children, they\u2019re our children,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd they are the kite strings that literally lift our national ambitions aloft\u2026 Think about it. If you got to do one thing to make sure the nation succeeded in the next two generations, what would you do? I would say, literally, have the best-educated public in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Biden emphasized that \u201cwe have an obligation to help them\u2026 reach their potential.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYou have heard me say it many times about our children, but it is true, they\u2019re all our children. And the reason you are the teachers of the year is because you recognize that,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re not somebody else\u2019s children.
