Nelson can be seen popping up for air several times before disappearing in the water.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson\u2019s friend, 42-year-old Elbe Castro, was seen gripping onto a pillar in the middle of the river, seemingly unaware that his friend drowned.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">*Graphic Video*: A 38 yr-old Nicaraguan man drowned while trying to cross the Rio Grande River into Eagle Pass Texas. Evans drowned. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VWxXW5RrmP\">pic.twitter.com\/VWxXW5RrmP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bryan Llenas (@BryanLlenas) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BryanLlenas\/status\/1521130129497415683?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The duo left Nicaragua in December, Llenas reported. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/29\/dozens-alleged-migrants-box-truck-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Dozens Of Alleged Migrants Found Inside Box Truck)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Llenas said the National Guard was present at the time of the drowning but were ordered not to perform any water rescues after SPC. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/25\/border-immigrants-army-soldier-abbott-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bishop Evans<\/a> recently <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/25\/border-texas-abbott-soldier-military-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">drowned<\/a> trying to save two migrants.<\/p>\n<p>Castro floated 150 yards down the river to a nearby bridge, where he was seen sitting on driftwood. Llenas said he \u201cpleaded with him to hold tight and to not attempt to swim because the current was too strong.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Our drone captured the 42 year old friend \u2013 float 150 yards to nearby bridge. We followed him.
