Heard allegedly punched Depp in the face during the incident, threw a can of Red Bull at the actor, and tried to spit on him.<\/p>\n<p>Depp is suing the \u201cAquaman\u201d actress for more than $50 million over alleged defamation stemming from an op-ed Heard penned at The Washington Post claiming to be a victim of domestic violence. Heard has countersued for more than $100 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt some point, I witnessed Ms. Heard throw a Red Bull can \u2026 that struck Mr. Depp in the back,\u201d testified McGivern, who has worked for Depp for several years. \u201cAt that point, I moved closer to Mr. Depp. \u2026 I didn\u2019t want my client to get hit with anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe verbal onslaught continued, from both of them,\u201d he added. \u201cMs. Heard threw something else, either a purse or a bag \u2026 [and] I was able to knock it away so it didn\u2019t hit [Depp]. \u2026 At one point, she spit at him. Yeah, and just a lot of verbal vitriol from both of \u2019em.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McGivern said Heard told Depp during the argument, \u201cyou\u2019re f***ing washed up,\u201d \u201cyou\u2019re a f***ing c***,\u201d and made remarks about the actor being a \u201cdeadbeat dad.\u201d The security guard said Depp participated equally in the verbal exchanges, giving \u201cas good as he got.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McGivern said that after Heard and her sister left the area, Depp \u201cthrew down probably every rack of clothing\u201d from Heard\u2019s closet.<\/p>\n<p>When the sisters returned to where Depp was, McGivern said he stepped between Heard and Depp, moments before Heard allegedly punched Depp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard and saw a closed fist contact Mr. Depp in the left side of his face,\u201d he testified. \u201cThat was Amber Heard\u2019s fist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that point, I wasn\u2019t going to let Mr. Depp get hit anymore, so I moved him down the last flight of stairs to the lower level and told him we\u2019re leaving \u2026 just for his sake,\u201d McGivern said. \u201cI let him get hit by a Red Bull can, I let him get punched \u2026 it was my time to do my job and get him out of there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McGivern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/3am\/celebrity-news\/johnny-depps-security-saw-amber-22372440\">also<\/a> testified during Depp\u2019s libel case in London in July 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Pubic opinion seems to be turning against Heard since Depp and other witnesses have been testifying this month in the defamation case. Heard last week notably fired her public relations team, the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/01\/amber-heard-fires-pr-team-days-before-shes-set-to-testify-after-tons-of-bad-press\/\">confirmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An expert <a href=\"https:\/\/lawandcrime.com\/live-trials\/johnny-depp\/amber-heard-axes-crisis-pr-team-amid-flurry-of-bad-press-as-she-prepares-to-testify\/\">told<\/a> Law&#038;Crime that the timing of the firing is \u201cunusual.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s certainly unusual to change teams right before the defense goes. Maybe things will improve for them, maybe they won\u2019t,\u201d the expert said. \u201cIt\u2019s just inherent that you get negative headlines when you\u2019re getting being attacked by the plaintiff on national tv for weeks at a time. You have to weather the storm and try to turn the page.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notably, there\u2019s been a host of Depp fans packing the courtroom, or waiting outside with supportive signs, seeing if they can snag a photo or glimpse of the actor. The glaring Depp-support was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/29\/style\/johnny-depp-amber-heard-fans.html\">highlighted<\/a> by The New York Times as so-called courtroom \u201cStan\u201d culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA frenzied scene materializes four days a week at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia as fans seek seats at the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard,\u201d the Times reported. \u201cThe line to enter the courthouse begins before sunrise.
