According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/04\/tyra-banks-discovery-teen-drag-series-1235009349\/\"><span>Deadline<\/span><\/a><span>, the limited series will feature five teenagers and their parents as they prepare to participate in a drag show event in Denver, Colorado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIn this heartfelt and joyous coming of age series, \u2018Generation Drag\u2019 celebrates a group of amazingly talented teens who put their creativity, passion, and talent on center stage,\u201d Howard Lee, president of TLC Streaming and Network Originals, told the publication in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cJameson, Noah, Vinny, Bailey and Nabela may only be in their teens, yet they are well beyond their years in being true to themselves and recognizing the importance of living authentically. Their story is an inspiration to express yourself at any age.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAmerica\u2019s Next Top Model\u201d alum Banks had similar words of praise, calling the teens participating in the drag show a \u201cbeautiful\u201d thing to witness that exhibited their \u201cfierceness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI have such admiration and respect for these teens. They are bravely navigating coming into their own in a world that can be very challenging and not always accepting. What is so beautiful is seeing their parents and siblings supporting them,\u201d the former Victoria\u2019s Secret supermodel said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThese teens\u2019 laser-focused tenacity inspires my team and me and we are honored to share their stories. I can\u2019t wait for these popping personalities to show their fierceness to the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Discovery+ <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/press.discoveryplus.com\/lifestyle\/five-teenagers-prepare-for-their-biggest-drag-performance-in-the-new-series-generation-drag-premiering-on-discovery-june-1st\/\"><span>description<\/span><\/a><span> had even more details about one of the show participants. The website talked about Jameson, a three time veteran of the Dragutante event whose mother came up with the idea for it. Jameson performs as \u201cOphelia Peaches\u201d and expresses hurt over not being accepted by some family members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Noah is apparently \u201ca trans female teen exploring her first romantic relationship.\u201d Noah\u2019s parents are described as being accepting but they still have \u201ctough conversations\u201d about \u201cher true self.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Vinny, who is described on the show press release as \u201ca perfectionist and was born to perform,\u201d is said to be having challenges with choreography and hopes to do \u201ca flawless cartwheel\u201d on stage while performing as \u201cVinessa Shimmer.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bailey is excited to meet other teens \u201cwith the same passion.\u201d The teenager\u2019s drag persona, \u201cNemo,\u201d is described as providing confidence.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There\u2019s also Nabela, who wants to show off the stage persona \u201cDunkaShay Monroe\u201d to a bigger crowd. Nabela\u2019s maternal grandmother is someone who \u201cshe fears may never accept her.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Discovery+ says all five teens have \u201cworked for months curating their head-to-toe looks for their alter ego performances, but it\u2019s the friendships they make along the way that fulfill their sense of self.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The trailer for the series delves even deeper into the storytelling.
