after the financier had been convicted and jailed for sexually abusing children in 2008.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Epstein was also invited as a VIP guest to fundraising dinners that promoted the Gates Foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;At the time, I didn&#8217;t realize that by having those meetings it would be seen as giving him credibility,&#8221;<\/em> Gates told\u00a0<a class href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/bill-gates-i-m-grieving-the-same-way-melinda-is-nf72pb3kf?utm_medium=Social\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">The Times<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;You&#8217;re almost saying, &#8216;I forgive that type of behavior,&#8217; or something.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<figure title=\"Bill Gates developed his friendship with Jeffery Epstein after his child sex abuse conviction\">\n<div class=\"articleImage\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/bill-gates-jeffrey-epstein-huge-mistake-35821.jpg\" alt=\"bill gates developed his friendship with jeffery epstein after his child sex abuse conviction\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"creditNew\">\u00a9\u00a0press<\/span>\n<\/div><figcaption>Bill Gates developed his friendship with Jeffery Epstein after his child sex abuse conviction<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;So clearly the way it&#8217;s seen, <strong>I made a huge mistake<\/strong> not understanding that,&#8221;<\/em> he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The dinners were a point of contention between the Microsoft billionaire and his now ex-wife and business partner, Melinda French Gates, who described Epstein as <em>&#8220;evil personified.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The couple announced their separation last year after 27 years of marriage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In earlier interviews, Gates stated how he ultimately stopped meetings with the convicted sex offender after he realized the meetings would not be productive for his philanthropic foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I had dinners with him,&#8221;<\/em> Gates <a href=\"https:\/\/neonnettle.com\/news\/16189-bill-gates-admits-relationship-with-pedophile-jeffrey-epstein-was-a-huge-mistake-\">said<\/a> in a September 2021 interview.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I regret doing that. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;He had relationships he said with people he said would give to public health. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;Not nearly enough philanthropy goes in that direction.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;Those meetings were a mistake,&#8221;<\/em> he said to\u00a0<a class href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewsHour\/status\/1440447571470655489?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">PBS.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;They didn&#8217;t result in what he purported, and I cut them off. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;You know, that goes back a long time ago now.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The billionaire has previously claimed he had concerns about Epstein, who had pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2008 of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute &#8211; years before the tech mogul met the financier.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I had several dinners with him hoping that what he said about getting billions of philanthropy for global health through contacts he had might emerge,&#8221;<\/em> Gates said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;When it looked like that wasn&#8217;t a real thing that relationship ended.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;It was a huge mistake to spend time with him and give him the credibility of being there. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;There were lots of others in that same situation, but I made a mistake.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In her first interview since her divorce from the billionaire last year, Melinda told\u00a0<a class href=\"https:\/\/www.cbs.com\/shows\/cbs-mornings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CBS Mornings<\/a>\u00a0in March that she insisted on meeting Epstein back in 2011 because she wanted to see<em> &#8220;who this man was.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein,&#8221;<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I made that clear to him. I also met Jeffrey Epstein exactly one time. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I wanted to see who this man was and I regretted it from the second I stepped in the door.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;He was abhorrent, evil personified. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;I had nightmares about it afterward.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;That&#8217;s why my heart breaks for these young women. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8220;That&#8217;s how I felt, and I am an older woman.
