This woman scaled back her twitter use because of \u2018abuse\u2019 (criticism of her journalism). She still writes for NYT. We are supposed to believe she\u2019s been &#8216;silenced&#8217;?&#8221; Pushaw continued.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>After completing the second chapter, Pushaw wrote, &#8220;End of Chapter 2: Minister of Truth Nina Jankowicz insists she is definitely NOT a &#8216;dumb, disfigured, CIA operative, deep state bimbo.&#8217; She concludes, &#8216;More importantly, I am not a bad person.&#8217; How can this be real?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The central problem with Nina Jankowicz\u2019s argument, aside from her cringe persona, is that she believes \u201cfreedom of speech\u201d means \u201cthe freedom to say whatever I want, but nobody is allowed to disagree or say anything rude or negative to me in response to my free speech\u201d ?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Christina Pushaw ? ?? This is NOTHING, comparatively speaking. (@ChristinaPushaw) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChristinaPushaw\/status\/1520916591306752001?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Pushaw added regarding the incident, &#8220;This part I can speak to, since I also worked in strategic communications in exSoviet countries: The Ukrainian male politicians didn\u2019t ignore you because they\u2019re &#8216;misogynists.&#8217; They ignored you because a Georgetown intern doesn\u2019t know enough about their country to advise them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Continuing in her reading, Pushaw wrote that Jankowicz &#8220;then writes about a corporate media journalist who called the CEO of a company to complain about &#8216;harassment&#8217; (criticism of her reporting) from that CEO\u2019s employees. The Minister of Truth advises women that this is a great way to silence their detractors online.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Pushaw explained that Jankowicz then &#8220;interviews a bunch of people she identifies as women who claim they experienced \u00a0&#8216;online abuse&#8217; &#038; feel \u00a0&#8216;targeted&#8217; \u00a0with &#8216;gendered disinformation&#8217;. I looked them up\u2026they are ALL EXTREME LIBS. She didn\u2019t talk to ONE conservative woman for her book. (@ChristinaPushaw) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChristinaPushaw\/status\/1520955480872468486?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>It was also revealed over the weekend that Jankowicz wrote in a Twitter thread from January, 2021, &#8220;The biggest challenge in identifying this content both for our team and for platforms is what we\u2019ve dubbed &#8216;malign creativity&#8217; &#8212; the coded language, memes, and context-based content which allow harmful posts to avoid detection.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Innuendo is illegal now. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/81P3m0BgWn\">pic.twitter.com\/81P3m0BgWn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealJamesWoods\/status\/1520966617496096769?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The post was part of a longer thread announcing the release of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilsoncenter.org\/sites\/default\/files\/media\/uploads\/documents\/Report%20Malign%20Creativity%20How%20Gender%2C%20Sex%2C%20and%20Lies%20are%20Weaponized%20Against%20Women%20Online_0.pdf\">Malign Creativity: How Gender, Sex, and Lies are Weaponized Against Women Online<\/a><\/em>, which was co-authored by Jankowicz along with; Jillian Hunchak, Alexandra Pavliuc, Celia Davies, Shannon Pierson and Zo\u00eb Kaufmann.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>According to Jankowicz, the only subjects of her report were Democrats Kamala Harris, Ilhan Omar, Gretchen Whitmer and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and did not study abuse Republican women received online yet claimed, &#8220;Women were targeted with abuse across party lines.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Jankowicz highlighted in the thread that the report recommended that &#8220;Platforms also need more intersectional expertise in content moderation, as abuse toward women, POC, and other marginalized communities too often goes undetected and unaddressed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>She suggested that the most important solution to the problem was to introduce &#8220;incident reports, allowing targets of abuse to group many pieces of content\/campaigns together and giving moderators more context than a single tweet\/post, reducing the efficacy of malign creativity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>She added, &#8220;We also encourage lawmakers to lead by example and end the gendered rhetoric we see some politicians using in Congress and on campaigns. We also hope VAWA will be reauthorized in the new Congress and include provisions to mitigate online abuse.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Ironically, Jankowicz herself has been revealed to have spread disinformation on a number of topics.
