FAIR writes in the report. &#8220;That&#8217;s an increase of approximately $9.4 billion over the past year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\"><\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The number of illegal immigrants living in the US increased from 14.5 million at the end of 2020 to 15.5 million at the end of 2021.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden\u2019s Policies Fueled One Million New Illegal Aliens and Added Nearly $10 Billion in Costs During his First Year in Office, Finds New FAIR Study <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/o1CSogO5U0\">https:\/\/t.co\/o1CSogO5U0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 FAIR (@FAIRImmigration) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FAIRImmigration\/status\/1519300399827673089?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 27, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>While US Customs and Border Protection&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/southwest-land-border-encounters\">charts<\/a> deal with &#8220;border encounters,&#8221; the government resource backs up the point that FAIR conveys when stating that illegal border crossings &#8220;exponentially&#8221; skyrocketed at the onset of the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The conclusions made by FAIR are that illegal migrants are costing American taxpayers $143.1 billion overall, with nearly $10 billion in costs coming from the influx of illegals into the US over the last year.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The leading states by population of illegal migrants are: California in first place with 3.266 million, followed by Texas, Florida, New York and New Jersey.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>As for the economic relationship between US businesses and illegal migrants: people come to Mexico looking for work at a time when American establishments are willing to use &#8220;cheap labor&#8221; to make ends meet amid an era of inflation and increasing costs of living.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The FAIR report described how President Joe Biden and his administration have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/live\/2021\/02\/18\/us\/joe-biden-news\">promised<\/a> amnesty for illegal migrants in the United States and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2021\/apr\/28\/thom-tillis\/tillis-doesnt-tell-full-story-about-biden-amnesty-\/\">tried<\/a> to get Congress to pass legislation on the issue in 2021.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>FAIR\u2019s claims about the influence Biden has had on encouraging illegal migrants and human smugglers trafficking people into the United States, had previously been confirmed by reporters on the ground.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VenturaReport?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VenturaReport<\/a> asked one of the smugglers if it is easier to cross the river under Biden.<\/p>\n<p>He said yes because Biden is giving the migrants asylum.<\/p>\n<p>He also said it was harder to cross the border under Obama\/Trump because U.S. boats would patrol the river day and night. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SFIPED0omE\">pic.twitter.com\/SFIPED0omE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Julio Rosas (@Julio_Rosas11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Julio_Rosas11\/status\/1410857949355032576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 2, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>FAIR also mentioned that President Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/20\/proclamation-termination-of-emergency-with-respect-to-southern-border-of-united-states-and-redirection-of-funds-diverted-to-border-wall-construction\/\">halting<\/a> construction on the US-Mexico border wall project started by the Trump administration encouraged illegal immigration.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Migrants from Nicaragua have been filmed walking through gaps in the border wall.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This scene plays out all day by Morelos Dam. This comes as Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott has <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Julio_Rosas11\/status\/1512512322023141383\">restarted<\/a> work on building the border wall in the state and redoubled his efforts to stop illegal migration in his state.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>New rules <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2021\/02\/07\/biden-immigration-ice\/\">instituted<\/a> by the Biden administration further limited the capabilities of ICE officials when it comes to detaining and removing migrants who break the law. This being on top of the reinstitution of the Obama-era &#8220;catch and release&#8221; policy as well as the scaling back of migrant protection protocols.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>On Wednesday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/watch-dhs-secretary-mayorkas-defends-bidens-handling-of-southern-border\">defended<\/a> the Biden administration&#8217;s handling of immigration when speaking to the House Appropriations committee.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;We expect migration levels to increase as smugglers seek to take advantage of and profit from vulnerable migrants.
