It is now not clear whether Murray will continue to be a part of the film.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to CNBC on Saturday, Murray chalked up the incident, which he did not elaborate on, as a \u201cdifference of opinion,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/04\/bill-murray-being-mortal-production-suspension-speaks-out-1235013728\/\">saying<\/a> that he did something that he thought was funny, but that it was not received that way by the other party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did something I thought was funny, and it wasn\u2019t taken that way,\u201d Murray said. \u201cThe company, the movie studio, wanted to do the right thing, so they wanted to check it all out, investigate it, and so they stopped the production. But as of now, we\u2019re talking and we\u2019re trying to make peace with each other. I think that\u2019s where the real issue is, between our peace. We\u2019re both professionals. We like each other\u2019s work. We like each other, I think, and if you can\u2019t really get along and trust each other, there\u2019s no point in going further working together or making a movie as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I feel like if I don\u2019t see that, you know, the world is different than it was when I was a little kid,\u201d he said. \u201cYou know, what I always thought was funny as a little kid isn\u2019t necessarily the same as what\u2019s funny now. Things change and the times change, so it\u2019s important for me to figure it out. And I think the most important thing is that it\u2019s best for the other person. I thought about it, and if it\u2019s not best for the other person, doesn\u2019t matter what happens for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murray said that what would make him the happiest is if all parties involved could get back to work and learn to trust each other and the work that they\u2019ve been doing, and that they can grow from the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Searchlight Pictures sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/filming-suspended-after-inappropriate-behavior-complaint-filed-against-bill-murray-report\">letter<\/a> to everyone involved with the project last week, notifying them that they had decided to pause production until the incident was thoroughly investigated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLate last week, we were made aware of a complaint, and we immediately looked into it,\u201d the letter stated. \u201cAfter reviewing the circumstances, it has been decided that production cannot continue at this time. We are truly grateful to all of you for everything you\u2019ve put into this project.
