The image appears to have been originally shared as an April Fools\u2019 Day joke.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Queen Elizabeth II, who is the longest-serving monarch in English history, recently turned 96, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/21\/uk\/queen-elizabeth-birthday-2022-scli-intl-gbr\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>. An image shared on Facebook appears to show her knighting a black cat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to Ruben, knighted by the Queen. Now goes by the name, Sir Ruben,\u201d reads text included in the image.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLove this wonderful cat in Exeter, UK. He travels all over\u2014hospitals, schools, nursing homes, businesses to greet and comfort people,\u201d the post\u2019s caption reads. \u201cThe Queen actually knighted him earlier this month!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>While Reuben is a real cat from Exeter, England with a large following on social media, there is no evidence to suggest he was knighted by the queen. The image, which is the work of photoshop, appears to have been shared on the cat\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rubenthecat\/posts\/1040062036722226\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook page<\/a> as an April Fools\u2019 Day joke. The cat is famous for wandering the streets of Exeter, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/westcountry\/2022-02-19\/meet-the-exeter-cat-famous-for-staying-in-all-of-his-neighbours-homes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ITV News<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The original picture can be found on the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paimages.co.uk\/image-details\/2.46253319\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PA Images<\/a> and shows the queen knighting English actor Simon Russell Beale in 2019.
