To find a worse performance through the end of April, you have to go all the way back to 1970.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/anno_cumulative_change_by_year.jpeg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also by far the worst start to the year for the bond market, going back to 1990 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/biancoresearch\/status\/1519494080039989248\">(h\/t Jim Bianco)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FRZTMsCWQAAgOqZ?format=jpg&#038;name=4096x4096\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This has been a painful environment, to say the least. It\u2019s not the depth of the declines that are hurting, it\u2019s that it\u2019s happening in stocks <em>and<\/em> bonds at the same time. I will invest and compound my wealth over time and in exchange, there will be ups and downs. The diversified investor signs another contract that has now been violated; when stocks go down the fixed income side of my portfolio will buffer the downside. Well, that\u2019s no longer happening, which is why, along with inflation and other factors, investor sentiment is in the toilet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-29-at-11.51.53-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24746\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-29-at-11.51.53-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"760\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-29-at-11.51.53-AM.png 760w, https:\/\/theirrelevantinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-29-at-11.51.53-AM-300x168.png 300w\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of good reasons to be selling individual stocks right now but not a single good reason why\u00a0<em>you\u00a0<\/em>should be selling a basket of stocks. Not a single person has ever entered into an investment with the following premise; \u201cI\u2019m going to buy and see how it goes. But if I lose a lot of money and get scared I\u2019m going to panic sell and then regret that decision later on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s what happens when you buy something without a strategy, plan, or process. Getting out is easy, getting back in is impossible.
