Two years into the Biden administration, precisely zero are being honored for reporting on the current president. <em>Axios<\/em>\u2018s Jonathan Swan\u2014admittedly a bright spot at an outlet that now dispenses advice on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/gut-health-immune-system-anxiety-digestion-8265dcc3-7482-432d-b922-1612174cb14b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gut bacteria<\/a> and &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/squat-exercise-benefits-core-lower-back-strength-224a580b-b7a8-4990-96d1-da92f2ddae9d.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How squats power your life<\/a>&#8220;\u2014will be honored as the MVP of the White House press corps for a podcast documenting the end of the Trump presidency. ABC News&#8217;s Jonathan Karl will be celebrated for coverage of the Jan. 6 riot. And a pair of Associated Press reporters will get a trophy for a scoop on the Centers for Disease Control&#8217;s decision to ditch masks.<\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, <em>Politico <\/em><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2022\/04\/29\/the-fall-of-the-white-house-correspondent-00028272\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>reports<\/span><\/a><span> on<\/span><span> the &#8220;rise and fall of the star White House reporter.&#8221; Once the &#8220;crown jewel&#8221; of reportorial gigs, the job has, apparently, become a &#8220;bore&#8221; in the Biden era because stories &#8220;lack flair.&#8221; (Somehow, the <\/span><i><span>Free Beacon<\/span><\/i><span> has managed to find a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/biden-admin-to-fund-crack-pipe-distribution-to-advance-racial-equity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>couple<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/white-house-gender-equity-plan-calls-for-elimination-of-cash-bail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>of<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/homeland-security-diversity-and-inclusion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>good<\/span><\/a><span> ones!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One moron who will surely be out celebrating himself this weekend is quoted as follows: &#8220;The work is a lot less rewarding, because you&#8217;re no longer saving democracy from Sean Spicer and his Men&#8217;s Wearhouse suit,&#8221; this person said. &#8220;Jawing with Jen just makes you look like an asshole.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration&#8217;s disastrous abandonment of Afghanistan left 13 Marines dead. The Southern border is a veritable war zone. Inflation is at historic highs. The economy may be in recession. And the president is losing his marbles.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no deficit of bad news to cover, scandals to unearth, failures to reveal\u2014what&#8217;s missing is a serious, credible, and unbiased corps of White House correspondents to do the work.
