Gruesome photos of her were published in <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/2682479\/2021\/06\/30\/graphic-details-photos-emerge-in-restraining-order-filed-against-dodgers-pitcher-trevor-bauer\/\">The Athletic<\/a>, showing bruising from what Bauer insisted was a consensual encounter. Bauer did not appear in a game for the remainder of the 2021 season and has yet to pitch in the 2022 MLB season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The woman accused Bauer of assaulting her on two separate occasions. According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/2682479\/2021\/06\/30\/graphic-details-photos-emerge-in-restraining-order-filed-against-dodgers-pitcher-trevor-bauer\/\"><span>The Athletic<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<span>the woman alleged that Bauer punched her in the face, vagina, and buttocks, and choked her until she was unconscious multiple times. But in<\/span>\u00a0August, the accuser was denied the restraining order following a\u00a0four-day court battle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this case, the court finds there is no supporting evidence that Bauer would cause any harm or even have contact with her,\u201d Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman said.<\/p>\n<p><span>In February, the Los Angeles County District attorney\u2019s office announced that Bauer would not face criminal charges stemming from the sexual assault allegations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAfter a thorough review of all the available evidence including the civil restraining order proceedings, witness statements and the physical evidence \u2014 the People are unable to prove the relevant charges beyond a reasonable doubt,\u201d the district attorney\u2019s office <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/dodgers\/story\/2022-02-08\/trevor-bauer-will-not-face-criminal-charges-following-sexual-assault-allegation\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cThose charges were assault by means likely to cause great bodily harm, sodomy of a sleeping person and domestic violence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Following the announcement of the suspension on Friday, Bauer, who is now suing his accuser, tweeted that he would be appealing the commissioner\u2019s decision.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIn the strongest possible terms, I deny committing any violation of the league\u2019s domestic violence &#038; sexual assault policy,\u201d Bauer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BauerOutage\/status\/1520117083954106370?s=20&#038;t=ALVeN0fnj-N5BmhxXjgVIA\"><span>posted<\/span><\/a><span> to Twitter. \u201cI am appealing this action and expect to prevail.
