TRIAL: BRITISH MAN FOUND GUILTY IN US TRIAL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Elsheikh, who was convicted earlier this month and will face sentencing later, was directed by the judge to also be present at the sentencing Friday so that he could hear the impact statements given by family members of his victims.<\/p>\n<p>Kotey and Elsheikh, both of whom are British nationals, were a part of an ISIS cell dubbed &#8220;The Beatles&#8221; by their captives due to their accents.<\/p>\n<p>Ringleader of their group was the infamous\u00a0Mohammed Emwazi, more commonly known as Jihadi John, who was killed in Syria in 2015.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/bringing-isis-beatles-justice-us-court-of-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BRINGING THE &#8216;ISIS BEATLES&#8217; Michael Foley, brother to the American journalist said during his impact statement.<\/p>\n<p>Kotey, 38, is from west London where he converted to Islam before traveling to Syria and serving with ISIS from 2012 to 2015 when he was captured by Kurdish fighters.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Justice Department said Kotey\u00a0participated in the &#8220;seizure, detention and hostage negotiations&#8221; of four Americans, including Foley, Kayla Mueller, Steven Sotloff and Peter Kassig.<\/p>\n<p>Kotey previously pled guilty to eight counts of hostage-taking and terrorism-related counts resulting in death.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/640\/320\/Americans-ISIS.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"James Foley, Steven Sotloff, Peter Kassig and Kayla Mueller were American killed at the hands of ISIS under al-Baghdadi&#039;s leadership\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p>\n      James Foley, Steven Sotloff, Peter Kassig and Kayla Mueller were American killed at the hands of ISIS under al-Baghdadi&#8217;s leadership\n      <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Foley, Sotloff and Kassig were all beheaded in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Mueller later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/parents-of-humanitarian-worker-kayla-mueller-support-trump-because-of-his-passion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died<\/a> in 2015 as an ISIS hostage during an airstrike.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We miss our beautiful daughter,&#8221; her mother Marsha said during her impact statement, recalling details she learned of her daughter\u2019s detention, torture and rape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/apps-products?pid=AppArticleLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I lost my faith in God and our government,&#8221; Mueller&#8217;s father Carl said when addressing Kotey and Elsheikh.<\/p>\n<p>Kotey was charged with the crimes against the four Americans Friday, but he is known to have &#8220;participated in hostage operations involving British, Italian, Danish and German nationals, among others,&#8221;
