Recent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/13\/quinnipiac-poll-biden-support-hispanics-collapses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">polling<\/a> has found that Biden will have to change voters\u2019 perceptions on the current state of the economy for Democrats to have any hope in November.<\/p>\n<p>A Gallup <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/392159\/inflation-concerns-fueling-low-economic-confidence.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> released Wednesday found that 42% of Americans believe economic conditions are \u201cpoor,\u201d while 32% said the economy is in fair shape. Over three quarters of Americans, 76%, said the economy is getting worse while less than one quarter, 20%, said it is improving.<\/p>\n<p>Gallup\u2019s Economic Confidence Index, which measures the public\u2019s feelings about the economy on a scale of +100 being very high and -100 being very low, currently stands at -39. The poll surveyed 1,018 adults between April 1-19 with a 4% margin of error.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7419426\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7419426\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo by Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The high costs of inflation and the economy overall are the issues Americans currently prioritize the most, the poll found. In April, 17% of respondents said inflation is their most important problem in the U.S., and 12% answered that all economic issues are the most important. With issues unrelated to the economy, the majority of respondents overwhelmingly said the government and poor leadership are their biggest concern.<\/p>\n<p>A Quinnipiac <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3844\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> also released Wednesday found that only 33% of Americans approve of Biden\u2019s handling of the economy, while 61% disapprove. The poll surveyed 1,554 adults between April 21-25 with a 2.5% margin of error. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/10\/real-problem-democrats-meet-the-press-predicts-major-blow-democrats-culture-wars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Meet The Press Panel Predicts \u2018Culture War\u2019 Will Be A \u2018Real Problem For The Democrats\u2019 In The Midterm Elections)\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the worst political environment that I\u2019ve lived through in 30 years of being a political consultant,\u201d Biden pollster John Anzalone said, according to CNN.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/12\/inflation-labor-department-joe-biden-white-house-vladimir-putin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Inflation<\/a> reached its highest levels since December 1981 when the Consumer Price Index soared 8.5% in March. Gas prices skyrocketed to an average of over $4 per gallon early last month after Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/white-house-rebrands-rising-gas-prices-putin-price-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dubbed<\/a> rising prices as \u201cPutin\u2019s Price Hike,\u201d though prices of gas and other essential goods had risen months prior to the war in Ukraine. The president first <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/23\/joe-biden-releases-50-million-barrels-oil-strategic-petroleum-reserve-gas-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tapped<\/a> the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to release 50 million barrels of oil to combat rising gas prices in November, four months before the invasion.<\/p>\n<p>A Politico\/Morning Consult <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000180-4018-dd01-afaa-e538e2d30000&#038;nname=playbook&#038;nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b7bd0000&#038;nrid=00000159-d250-d519-adf9-de52aaa60000&#038;nlid=630318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> found that registered voters are almost evenly split between favoring Democrats and Republicans, with 43% of respondents supporting Democrats and 42% for Republicans. Republicans have a strong advantage over voters who who prioritize the economy by a 50%-39% margin.
