A retailer told the Hollywood Reporter that the decision was made in light of Carano\u2019s recent social media activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Star Wars Black Cara Dune figure was released in 2020 and sold out not long after the inventory was received,\u201d the retailer said in an email to the outlet. \u201cHasbro planned for another production run and we were accepting preorders from that production run. Due to recent events, Hasbro was no longer approved to produce any more of this figure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The decision \u2014 and, it seems, Carano\u2019s popularity with the \u201cMandalorian\u201d audience \u2014 has sent prices for Cara Dune figures skyrocketing on secondary retail sites like eBay, with some sellers listing limited edition Cara Dune toys at up to ten times their suggested retail price.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAction figures for Gina Carano\u2019s \u2018Mandalorian\u2019 character are being hawked for big bucks online after a top toymaker reportedly said it would no longer produce the items following the actress\u2019s firing from Disney for controversial social media posts,\u201d the Hill noted. \u201cSome sellers on eBay were listing their six-inch Cara Dune figurines for nearly $500, while others were being sold for $250 a piece on Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne eBay listing is offering an action figure of Carano\u2019s character for $495. A product that appears identical to the one on eBay is sold out on Target\u2019s website but normally goes for $25,\u201d the outlet continued. \u201cAnother seller peddling a \u2018mint condition\u2019 Dune figure for $91 says in a listing for the item, \u2018Try to get it now for low before the price skyrockets even more.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis figure will be discontinued due to the actress who plays her being fired and this figure will become very rare. Competitors are listing for 3x the price,\u201d the seller said.<\/p>\n<p>It does appear that some secondary retailers are able to sell the figures for that price, and the seller identified by the Hill seems to have been proven correct. The lowest price for a traditional, 3.5-inch Hasbro Cara Dune \u201cMandalorian\u201d action figure, is around $85.
