And it made my fingertips feel really numb and weird.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>\u201cJustin [her husband] was like, \u2018Are you okay?\u2019\u201d she added, as she explained that she tried to respond to him, but she \u201ccouldn\u2019t speak.\u201d \u201cThe right side of my face started drooping; I couldn\u2019t get a sentence out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, immediately, I thought I was having a stroke,\u201d the supermodel continued. \u201cHe thought I was having a stroke. Right away, he asked for somebody to please call 911 and get a doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hailey said that where they were, there happened to be a medic who started asking her lots of questions and testing her arms, calling it definitely the \u201cscariest moment\u201d of her life. The model talked about how the \u201cfacial drooping lasted for probably like thirty seconds.\u201d Her speech did came back, but her \u201canxiety\u201d about what was happening just made \u201ceverything worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy the time I got to the emergency room, I was pretty much back to normal \u2013 [I] could talk, [I] wasn\u2019t having any issues with my face or my arm,\u201d Bieber explained.<\/p>\n<p>She said scans revealed she had, in fact, suffered a \u201csmall blood clot\u201d to her brain which was labeled a \u201cTIA\u201d [Transient Ischemic Attack]. Hailey told her followers it was basically like having a \u201cmini-stroke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doctors still weren\u2019t sure what caused it, but she said it was widely believed it was a combination of birth-control issues, recently having COVID-19, and having just traveled \u201cto Paris and back in a very short amount of time,\u201d calling it a \u201cperfect storm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further testing at the University of California, Los Angeles, revealed Bieber had a Grade 5 PFO [a small opening in the heart that usually closes after birth].
