Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) has doubled down on threats he made to a fellow New York lawmaker. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/newsom-recall-campaign-cox-contribution-gubernatorial-bid\">reports<\/a> Wednesday, the governor allegedly vowed to \u201cdestroy\u201d Democrat assemblyman Ron Kim during a phone call for making critical remarks of his administration\u2019s handling of nursing home deaths.<\/p>\n<p>Kim spoke publicly to multiple news outlets, claiming the governor said he will ruin his career if he didn\u2019t cover up for the ex-staffer who leaked the nursing home death data.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kim, Cuomo also asked if he was an honorable man and said if he didn\u2019t immediately issue a new statement clarifying his remarks then he would face political retribution.<\/p>\n<p>In a stunning response, however, the governor used Wednesday\u2019s press briefing to say he has had a \u201clong and hostile relationship\u201d with Kim that dates back to 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never said anything about assemblyman Kim, he attacked me and said that I obstructed justice in a letter today,\u201d Cuomo stated. \u201cI obstructed justice that Kim and several other legislators said\u2026that\u2019s a lie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moments after, Kim released a statement on Twitter commenting \u201cfacts matter.\u201d Kim said while Cuomo claims to have worked with the Department of Justice, he was actually traveling for a book tour and doing a \u201cvictory lap across prime time cable news\u201d in an effort to distract the American people.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Facts matter. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HNqs6bXpAr\">pic.twitter.com\/HNqs6bXpAr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ron T. He claimed Kim flat out lied while noting he was in the room with Cuomo and three others at the time of the phone call.<\/p>\n<p>While many parts are still unclear, the Democrat governor is up against the odds as he up for reelection next year.
