Djokovic will now be allowed to play at Wimbledon following the French Open, with Chief Executive of the All England Club Sally Bolton saying that the United Kingdom does not require the COVID-19 vaccine in order to enter the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe requirements set out by government to enter the UK do not include mandatory vaccination, therefore whilst of course it is encouraged, it will not be a condition of entry to compete at the Championships this year,\u201d Bolton <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/tennis\/news\/32498\/12599351\/novak-djokovic-and-unvaccinated-players-to-be-allowed-to-compete-at-wimbledon-this-summer\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>, according to Sky Sports.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to Bolton, Wimbledon will be lifting its COVID-19 restrictions that were in place at last year\u2019s tournament.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are planning to return to a normal Championships this year,\u201d Bolton said. \u201cAnd so we don\u2019t intend to implement any of the Covid-19 measures that we saw last year in any substantial fashion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bolton did say that the tournament will work with public health officials \u201cin case we need to take further action.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBut this means that players will be able to return to their own choice of accommodation,\u201d Bolton continued. \u201cWe will see full capacity crowds for the whole event. And we\u2019re absolutely thrilled to welcome back the wider tennis family to Wimbledon this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Djokovic has stated that he will skip any tournaments that require the COVID-19 vaccine in order to compete.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYes, that is the price that I\u2019m willing to pay,\u201d Djokovic <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-60354068\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> the BBC when asked if he would be willing to miss out on tournaments requiring him to get the jab.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In March, Djokovic announced that would not compete in the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, or the late-March Miami Open, due to the Centers for Disease Control\u2019s (CDC) vaccine requirement for non-U.S. citizens flying into the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhile I was automatically listed in the [BNP Paribas Open] and [Miami Open] draw I knew it would be unlikely I\u2019d be able to travel,\u201d Djokovic <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DjokerNole\/status\/1501682656483893249?s=20&#038;t=NlW285ETNaZ4n9rlSy7cvQ\"><span>posted<\/span><\/a><span> to Twitter. \u201cThe CDC has confirmed that regulations won\u2019t be changing so I won\u2019t be able to play in the US.
