Now FX and The New York Times announced that they\u2019ll be releasing a documentary about the South African-born billionaire in May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/tv\/news\/elon-musk-new-york-times-documentary-fx-1235239488\/\"><span>Variety<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cElon Musk\u2019s Crash Course,\u201d is the newest production from FX and The New York Times as part of their collaborative documentary series \u201cThe New York Times Presents.\u201d These projects provide in depth looks at \u201cprominent people and events ranging from Janet Jackson to Juul to the 2020 Australian bushfire disasters.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The most famous of these so far were two popular documentaries about Britney Spears, \u201cFraming Britney Spears\u201d and \u201cControlling Britney Spears.\u201d These accounts became so popular that they energized her fan base, eventually leading to petitions to end Spears\u2019 conservatorship. Their activism helped that idea become a reality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The expos\u00e9 will mostly focus on negative aspects of Tesla. Variety reported that the documentary, which is directed by Emma Schwartz, will explore the future-minded company and their development of self-driving cars.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The publication shared, \u201cFeaturing the reporting from Cade Metz and Neal Boudette of The New York Times, the film will dive into how Tesla\u2019s Autopilot program has resulted in several deaths that Musk and the company has yet to publicly acknowledge, and details Musk\u2019s efforts to kill government investigations into the incidents. Several former Tesla employees will be featured in the documentary, speaking out against Musk for the first time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Hollywood Reporter <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/elon-musk-crash-course-new-york-times-fx-doc-1235134847\/\"><span>says<\/span><\/a><span> the deep dive will also examine \u201cpressure Elon Musk [has] put on government officials to quash investigations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The episode will debut May 20 at 10 p.m. on FX and Hulu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Musk has been making headlines for weeks as he aggressively seeks to acquire Twitter. Late on Monday, the company announced they\u2019d reached an agreement to be acquired by Musk for $54.20 per share in a deal valued at $44 billion, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-twitter-announces-deal-with-elon-musk\">reported<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cUnder the terms of the agreement, Twitter stockholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter common stock that they own upon closing of the proposed transaction,\u201d the company said in a statement. \u201cThe purchase price represents a 38% premium to Twitter\u2019s closing stock price on April 1, 2022, which was the last trading day before Mr. Musk disclosed his approximately 9% stake in Twitter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Social media exploded with commentary, with the hashtag #TwitterTakeover trending and many users threatening to leave the platform.
