It is part of a fictional short film.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Humans most recently landed on the moon in 1972 as part of NASA\u2019s Apollo 17 mission, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/03\/08\/1085241811\/nasa-moon-samples-apollo-artemis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NPR<\/a>. The next lunar mission involving humans is scheduled for 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/lifestyle\/science\/nasa-says-wont-send-manned-mission-moon-until-2025-nyt-2021-11-09\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A video shared on Facebook suggests humans might not be the only living creature to have walked on the moon. The video shows what appears to be a humanoid figure walking and crouching on the surface of the moon while a voice can be heard seemingly discussing the creature. \u201cLeaked footage from NASA of the giant ufo creature on the moon,\u201d reads the post\u2019s caption.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/04\/20\/fact-check-moon-lights-surface-photo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did A Russian Probe Capture An Image Of Lights On The Far Side Of The Moon?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The video is digitally fabricated and is not from NASA. A reverse image search traced the supposed footage back to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Yy6t8oJ0olY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube video<\/a> from September 2015, uploaded by user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/menithings\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MeniThings<\/a>. The channel identifies itself on its <a href=\"https:\/\/menithings.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> as a production company focused on live-action and animated projects.<\/p>\n[embedded content]The production company notes in the video\u2019s description that the footage is \u201cPart of the Project Blue Book short film series.\u201d The company\u2019s YouTube channel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLNF1MdLoNtJPmtgiRxi4597cifkTw-kmB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">features<\/a> other installments in the series as well.<\/p>\n<p>The voice featured in the video stems from a <a href=\"https:\/\/history.nasa.gov\/alsj\/a12\/a12.landing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recording<\/a> of late astronaut Pete Conrad during the Apollo 12 mission\u2019s November 1969 descent to the lunar surface.
