With the exception of President Donald Trump, no former commander-in-chief in modern history has performed worse in the fifth quarter of his administration than Biden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, a Gallup survey conducted in the first half of April showed that 56% of Americans disapprove \u201cof the way Biden is handling his job as president.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The polling is likely a bad omen for the Democrats ahead of the midterm elections. \u201cTypically, unpopular presidents\u2019 parties have lost seats in midterm elections, with the number of seats lost usually much higher for presidents with job approval ratings below 50%,\u201d Gallup explained. \u201cWhile it is possible that Biden\u2019s job approval could increase between now and the fall elections, doing so would go against the historical pattern for second-year presidents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAs things stand, given the strong link between presidential job approval ratings and how the president\u2019s party performs in midterm elections, Biden appears likely to be governing with Republican majorities in one or both houses of Congress next year unless his rating dramatically improves,\u201d Gallup continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Of particular concern for Democrats is plummeting support for demographics that were once firmly in the party\u2019s corner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A new nationwide <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3843\"><span>poll<\/span><\/a><span> by Quinnipiac released earlier in April puts Biden\u2019s approval rating among Hispanics at just 26% \u2014 a drop from his 69% approval at the beginning of his term in office. Possible explanations include Hispanics\u2019 concern over inflation and the border crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBiden\u2019s handling of the border may yield the most surprising data coming out of border states such as Texas,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/campaign\/3270602-hispanics-are-abandoning-biden-in-droves-heres-why\/\"><span>The Hill<\/span><\/a><span> reported. \u201cMore than 50 percent of registered Latino voters there disapprove of the administration\u2019s handling of the border. And as you may recall, Biden tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to handle the border crisis, but she has been almost entirely apathetic on this front.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hispanic voters are now almost evenly split in support between Democrats and Republicans, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/hispanic-voters-poll-split-republicans-democrats\"><span>Fox News<\/span><\/a><span> reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cNothing has happened that was promised,\u201d government and businesses consultant Bertica Cabrera Morris <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/biden-approval-rating-hispanic-voters-poll\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> Fox News Digital. \u201cI think the country is more divided than normal. It was divided during Obama, then during Trump, and now again \u2014 it\u2019s not going in the right direction.
