Which of them are going to be affected most by this latest order? You guessed it. The lower and middle classes, working people, and minorities. You won\u2019t find most residents of Beverly Hills and Brentwood riding a Los Angeles bus or subway. Yes, even those folks will have to mask up at the airport like everyone else. But I\u2019m guessing no one\u2019s going to hassle the private jet crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Who holds dominion over these 10 million people? None other than <a href=\"http:\/\/publichealth.lacounty.gov\/media\/director\/MonthlyMessage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Barbara Ferrer<\/a>, who\u2019s held LA residents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/la-county-health-director-presents-criteria-for-lifting-covid-mask-mandates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hostage<\/a> for two years now. Ferrer, whom radio talk show host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabc.com\/the-john-phillips-show\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Philips of KABC<\/a> likes to call the \u201cfake doctor\u201d because she doesn\u2019t hold an actual MD, has earned a Ph.D. in Social Welfare, a Master of Arts in Public Health, a Master of Arts in Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies.<\/p>\n<p>Phew. That\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dialogue4health.org\/about\/presenters-and-moderators\/barbara-ferrer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lot of schooling<\/a>. It\u2019s all very impressive, but you don\u2019t want her in the operating room. RedState\u2019s Jennifer Van Laar <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jenvanlaar\/2020\/05\/26\/exclusive-open-letter-from-la-county-public-health-professionals-n138126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported back in 2020<\/a> that local health officials were deeply concerned about her lack of qualifications for the Director job.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/los-angeles-county-masks-mandate-bring-back-face-public-transit\/11779646\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC7 Eyewitness News<\/a> reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Ferrer said she feels \u201creally, really sorry\u201d that the new county order will likely create confusion among residents feeling a sense of \u201cwhiplash\u201d due to rapidly changing rules. But she noted that the CDC never changed its recommendations regarding mask-wearing on public transit, and said the Florida court ruling was made by \u201ca federal judge with little experience in public health\u201d who questioned the CDC\u2019s authority.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She feels really, really sorry! Puh-lease. She always seems to take a perverse joy in these announcements, if you ask me.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of whiplash, the entire country has it at this point. L.A. is imposing this new requirement just as Philadelphia is <em>dropping<\/em> their indoor one \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/philadelphia-to-drop-mask-mandate-days-after-reinstating-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mere days<\/a> after announcing it. No wonder people\u2019s heads are spinning.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrer was just surprisingly grilled pretty hard today on CNN. My. Gosh.
