And when authorities set up a \u201ccontrolled buy\u201d to purportedly catch her in the act, the 38-year-old sheriff\u2019s daughter allegedly showed up with drugs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt\u2019s heartbreaking,\u201d Smith told local news station WMBB. \u201cThe last person you ever want to arrest is one of your family members, especially your child. I mean, it\u2019s like you can\u2019t even put it into words. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s anything you wish on your worst enemy to do something like this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kent has been charged with trafficking amphetamines, possession of drug equipment, and possession of cocaine. Another woman, Bailey Adaire Lee, 25, was arrested in the same investigation with two counts of amphetamine trafficking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meth, a highly addictive stimulant that floods a user\u2019s brain with dopamine, has been called the \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/02\/13\/us\/meth-crystal-drug.html\"><span>forgotten killer<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d due to the increased attention given in recent years to the opioid crisis. But in 2018, the sheriff started calling attention to the drug with a \u201cDon\u2019t Meth Around Campaign,\u201d which involves posting the photos of the \u201cFaces of Meth\u201d on Facebook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMethamphetamine does not discriminate &#038; neither do we. It does not matter who you are \u2014 no one is immune or exempt,\u201d Smith <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Franklinsheriff01\/posts\/311898181083313\"><span>wrote<\/span><\/a><span> in a Facebook post following the arrest of his daughter. \u201cOur hearts break over the grief meth causes all \u2014 whether you use it, sell it or love someone who is involved with it. <\/span><span>If you want to break free from this lifestyle, we want to help you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>His daughter\u2019s face, like the faces of other meth suspects arrested, was included in the post.<\/p>\n<p><span>Hundreds of people have commented on the sheriff\u2019s post, with many sharing messages of support for the sheriff and hope for the women who were arrested.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cPrayers for both the ladies and their families. AJ Smith and all law enforcement has a tough job. Sometimes it comes down to arresting family members with the hope and prayers they will get the help they need,\u201d said one user.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cPraying for these young women &#038; their families. Nothing is ever too hard for God. He will heal the broken-hearted &#038; restore them.
