Today marks 25 consecutive years, six months, and 15 days at the helm of a primetime cable news program, breaking the previous longstanding record* held by the late talk show host Larry King. As cable news\u2019 most enduring personality, Hannity has been a staple of FNC\u2019s primetime lineup since the launch of the network in 1996, where his candid style and passionate commentary have made him one of the most prominent and influential voices in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hannity\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/news\/sean-hannity-breaks-cable-news-prime-time-record\/\">primetime launch<\/a> on Fox News was with his <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/foxs-alan-colmes-dies-66-hank-berrien\/\">late partner Alan Colmes<\/a>, and the duo hosted the long-running and wildly popular debate show \u201cHannity and Colmes,\u201d overtaking King in ratings within the first five years.<\/p>\n<p>After Colmes left the show in 2008, Hannity rebranded and went solo. In the years since, \u201cHannity\u201d has spent a considerable amount of his time at the top of the ratings charts \u2014 ranking first in the always-coveted 25-54 age demographic from 2017-2019, and ranking first in total viewers for four years from 2017-2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost recently, Hannity ended 2021 as the top-rated program airing at 9 PM\/ET, besting the competition on CNN and MSNBC by double digits in both categories.
