But when one door closes, another door opens.<\/p>\n<p>Confident their new venture would be a huge success, CNN+ executives minted several NFTs of the opening thirty seconds of programming. The attempt to sell video of the &#8220;historic moment&#8221; to &#8220;digital collectors&#8221; for $50 failed. Like CNN+ <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/media\/execs-pull-the-plug-on-cnn-after-just-23-days\/\">overestimated the number of subscribers<\/a> it would get, the CNN+ marketing team <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/media\/nobody-wants-a-piece-of-cnn-history\/\">overestimated demand<\/a> for the NFT, and only a fraction of the NFTs were snagged.<\/p>\n<p>But the fact that even one person was willing to fork over $50 for a 31-second video of CNN host Kate Bolduan got us noodling<em>\u2014<\/em>we can do better than that!<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what we came up with:<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>And thanks to OpenSea, which claims to be the &#8220;world&#8217;s first and largest NFT marketplace,&#8221; this war-mongering Kate Upton blog is officially on the blockchain, whatever that is.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Free Beacon&#8217;s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/opensea.io\/assets\/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e\/103998680045989022086135852337624371421088016646797472312348498316418678259713\">first NFT<\/a> features yours truly watching the CNN+ NFT from my office at our Arlington, Va., headquarters. Keen viewers will catch a glimpse of historic items, including the marriage certificate showing Ilhan Omar married her brother, sneakers worn by the failed Texas politician Wendy Davis, and a DVD copy of <em>True Lies<\/em>, a terrific 1994 James Cameron flick starring former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.<\/p>\n<p>If we can&#8217;t top the streaming network formerly known as CNN+, we&#8217;ll probably get off the blockchain.
