A Texas National Guard soldier tragically <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillFOXLA\/status\/1517536215389679617?s=20&#038;t=PcL2oV3pMf1ydZvvywisdg\">drowned<\/a> in the Rio Grande River this week while trying to rescue illegal border crossers from the water. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can tell you that it has been very dangerous in this stretch of the river this week,\u201d Fox News\u2019s Bill Melugin reported. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen three migrants drown this week alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"210\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-22-at-11.46.11-AM-1024x210-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-271151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-22-at-11.46.11-AM-1024x210-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-22-at-11.46.11-AM-300x62.png 300w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-22-at-11.46.11-AM-768x157.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-22-at-11.46.11-AM.png 1200w\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>That news comes just weeks after a migrant woman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2022\/04\/19\/ufcw-a19.html\">died<\/a> while trying to scale the U.S.-Mexico border wall.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s difficult to calculate just how many tragedies have occurred at the U.S.-Mexico border since the Biden administration issued an unofficial\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefdrlst.wpengine.com\/2021\/03\/18\/the-biden-administration-is-imposing-a-media-blackout-at-the-border\/\">gag order<\/a>\u00a0to cut off the press from accessing data held by federal officials but open border policies have long proved deadly. In 2021, at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/12\/09\/politics\/migrants-dying-crossing-us-mexico-border\/index.html\">650 migrants<\/a> died during their attempts to illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border. Many of them succumbed to heat exposure and drowning but others were killed by <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/25\/migrants-being-killed-in-turf-wars-between-mexico-cartels\/\">feuding Mexican cartels. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the United States\u2019 drug crisis, which is fueled by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/02\/01\/bidens-apathy-toward-his-drug-plagued-border-crisis-is-killing-people\/\">drug trafficking<\/a> at the Southern border, wasn\u2019t enough, the rise in deaths among illegal border crossers and now Americans proves that Biden\u2019s open border policies are hurting people. <\/p>\n<p>When Biden assumed office, he moved to eradicate many of the Trump administration\u2019s border security policies such as the \u201cRemain in Mexico\u201d policy which required asylum seekers to await court decisions in Mexico, and immediately halted construction on the border wall. Now, Biden is working to dismantle Title 42, a policy designed to expedite the expulsion of illegal border crossers during the Covid-19 pandemic, and which <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/14\/if-biden-cared-about-border-security-ice-would-arrest-more-border-criminals-instead-of-release-them\/\">border agencies<\/a> were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/16\/biden-weakens-border-as-illegal-crossings-cartel-unrest-grows\/\">barely enforcing anyway<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Aside from the Biden administration\u2019s official work to dismantle parameter protections, the president and his team <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/01\/18\/joe-biden-is-opening-the-door-to-a-mess-on-day-1\/\">essentially welcomed illegal immigrants<\/a> into the U.S. by telling them they could come to the U.S. once an Obama-like catch and release system was reinstated. <\/p>\n<p>The administration\u2019s weak border rhetoric and policy changes opened the door for many previously hesitant aliens to illegally cross the border without the same level of fear of retribution they felt under the previous administration. Multiple illegal immigrants <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/22\/illegal-immigrant-says-he-crossed-the-border-because-biden-not-trump-was-president\/\">have admitted<\/a> as much.  <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why illegal immigration under Biden has skyrocketed and is only expected to get worse. <\/p>\n<p>In March alone, border officials <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/04\/19\/more-than-221k-migrants-were-caught-illegally-crossing-u-s-border-in-march-as-bidens-crisis-escalates\/\">apprehended<\/a> at least 221,303\u00a0migrants trying to illegally cross the border.
