It has totally lagged all its other competitors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk, though, would provide the weak-performing company a way out, the investor said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best way to look at this is, you gave them a decade, why not get the whacking stick out and just start all over again?\u201d O\u2019Leary proposed. \u201cAnd that\u2019s what Elon Musk is proposing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest risk for shareholders here, whether you believe in the free speech issue or not, is if Musk goes away,\u201d the businessman warned. \u201cThen they\u2019re back in the same miserable place they are now. \u2026 When you start to try and figure out who should have a voice and who shouldn\u2019t, you\u2019re stepping on the basic principles of free speech in America. And that really doesn\u2019t sit well with a majority of the population.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sorkin pushed back on O\u2019Leary being a proponent of free speech principles, repeatedly bringing up pornography and snuff films, ignoring the censorship of so-called \u201cfringe views\u201d or social media-deemed \u201cmisinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cost of free speech, the cost to society, is allowing the lunatic fringe to have a voice,\u201d O\u2019Leary responded. \u201cAnd that\u2019s always been the case, back to when they were writing newspapers by hand. You gotta get over that, Andrew.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investor wasn\u2019t done yet, he closed the segment by boosting Musk\u2019s bid for the company and calling for Twitter board members to be \u201cfired.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s horrific what this company has done to their shareholders. I weep like a baby for them.
