The board said it could not explain a 1,500 percent increase in gender dysphoria diagnoses among 13- to 17-year-old girls between 2008 and 2018.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The article goes on to state that \u201cSweden\u2019s biggest gender identity center, Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, announced last year it would no longer prescribe puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to minors, except in a clinical trial setting. Finland similarly updated its treatment guidelines in 2020 to prioritize psychological help for youth experiencing gender distress.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Relatedly, on February 28 in France, the National Academy of Medicine \u201ccalled for medical practitioners to exercise \u2018the greatest caution\u2019 in administering puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones to French youth struggling with gender dysphoria.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This is not a new conversation among European doctors, however. In 2019, England\u2019s Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-7220897\/GPs-risk-transgender-storm-issuing-unprecedented-warning-lack-evidence-treatments.html\"><span>cautioned<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201cthere is a lack of\u00a0<\/span><i><span>\u2018<\/span><\/i><span>robust evidence\u2019\u00a0about the long-term effects of puberty-blockers and hormonal drugs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Furthermore, \u201cin a 12-page position paper, the RCGP complained that family doctors were under pressure to provide gender dysphoria services that\u00a0\u2018lie outside the remit\u2019\u00a0of their generalist expertise. The paper\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/policy\/rcgp-policy-areas\/transgender-care.aspx\"><span>advises<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0that more research is needed on the pros and cons of medical treatment vs. a less dramatic\u00a0\u2018wait and see\u2019\u00a0approach.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And this April in the U.K., after much waffling, the government <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-60947028\"><span>announced<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201ctherapy to attempt to change people\u2019s sexuality will be outlawed, but those practices carried out to try to change people\u2019s gender identity will not.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>So, as radical as the government\u2019s stance is in regard to the dangers of so-called \u201cconversion therapy,\u201d it is taking a more cautious stance when it comes to helping people with unwanted gender confusion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>America, however, appears to be going in the opposite direction. Jackson <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wng.org\/roundups\/hitting-the-brakes-on-transgender-treatments-for-youth-1647283935\"><span>observes<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cin the United States, by contrast, the medical establishment continues to promote an \u2018affirmation-only\u2019 model of treating childhood gender dysphoria while stifling debate over evidence-based treatments.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Furthermore, President Biden recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/feature\/nbc-out\/biden-issues-first-presidential-proclamation-trans-day-visibility-n1262613\"><span>proclaimed<\/span><\/a><span> the first-ever Trans Day of Visibility after making this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.them.us\/story\/joe-biden-2022-state-of-the-union-lgbtq-anti-trans-laws\"><span>an issue<\/span><\/a><span> in his first State of the Union speech in March. And already in 2021, his administration <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.them.us\/story\/biden-administration-took-legal-action-against-states-anti-trans-laws\"><span>declared legal war<\/span><\/a><span> on those states that seek to protect trans-identified kids from life-altering hormone treatments and sex-change surgeries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On a grassroots level, in February 2021, Amazon <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakpoint.org\/amazon-bans-when-harry-became-sally\/\"><span>banned<\/span><\/a><span> Ryan Anderson\u2019s important <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/harry-became-sally-responding-transgender-moment\/ryan-anderson\/9781594039614\/pd\/141598\"><span>book<\/span><\/a><span> \u201cWhen Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment,\u201d without any possible justification. Previously, in 2020, while not banning Abigail Shrier\u2019s watershed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Irreversible-Damage-Transgender-Seducing-Daughters\/dp\/1684510317\/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2JNSN4MJ55MSZ&#038;dchild=1&#038;keywords=irreversible%20damage%20the%20transgender%20craze%20seducing%20our%20daughters&#038;qid=1592759746&#038;sprefix=irreversible%20damage%2Caps%2C228&#038;sr=8-2&#038;fbclid=IwAR3q-Lpt3siamjYo-P7oEHFgN6uW_t8QfuWxEtUX0s9F-KkxXE8WpSXV5QY\"><span>volume<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cIrreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,\u201d Amazon <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.regnery.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/23\/christian-post-amazon-bans-ads-for-book-on-how-transgender-ideology-harms-girls-young-women\/#:~:text=Regnery%20Publishing%2C%20a%20Washington%20D.C.-based%20conservative%20company%20that,ad%20space%20on%20Amazon%20to%20promote%20the%20book.\"><span>banned<\/span><\/a><span> Regnery Books, the publisher, from advertising the book on their site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Talk about stifling the truth and attempting <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/smile.amazon.com\/Silencing-Lambs-Ominous-Culture-Overcome\/dp\/1629999849\"><span>to silence the lambs<\/span><\/a><span>. Talk about cancel culture raising its head in a concerted way, all with the goal of suppressing the truth about transgenderism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And what happens to breakaway groups like the American College of Pediatricians that, for years now, have been trying to warn about the dangers of trans-affirming therapies and surgeries for children? They are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.thinkprogress.org\/american-college-pediatricians-transgender-kids-falsehoods-384716df13c5\/\"><span>blasted<\/span><\/a><span> as frauds and liars in headlines like this: \u201cFake Medical Organization Publishes Lie-Ridden Manifesto Attacking Transgender Kids.\u201d (Respected medical leaders like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/standing-against-psychiatrys-crazes-11556920766\"><span>Dr. Paul McHugh<\/span><\/a><span> have long been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transadvocate.com\/worlds-experts-condemn-the-mchugh-hoax_n_13924.htm\"><span>demonized<\/span><\/a><span> for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/paul-mchugh-transgender-surgery-isnt-the-solution-1402615120\"><span>rejecting<\/span><\/a><span> transgender surgery.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Back in December 2018, Harvard Medical School ran a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hms.harvard.edu\/news\/transforming-transgender-care\"><span>story<\/span><\/a><span> titled, \u201cTransforming Transgender Care: $1.5 million gift kick-starts sexual, gender minority health equity initiative.\u201d Harvard was determined to right these perceived wrongs, starting with the training offered in the classrooms of their prestigious medical school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Why is it, then, that other countries are seeing the light and, within America, individual states are seeing the light (see <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freedomforallamericans.org\/legislative-tracker\/anti-transgender-legislation\/\"><span>here<\/span><\/a><span> for a hostile report), but the overall national atmosphere seems to remain so blindly and aggressively in favor of transitioning children?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There are even voices from within the transgender community sounding the alarm, led by the fearless and outspoken Kellie (\u201cScott\u201d) Newgent. (See <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/we-need-balance-when-it-comes-gender-dysphoric-kids-i-would-know-opinion-1567277\"><span>here<\/span><\/a><span> for her landmark article in Newsweek; see <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/JsNmvH9Alh4\"><span>here<\/span><\/a><span> for our very candid, eye-opening interview on my radio broadcast.) Others now speaking up include <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/13\/opinion\/transgender-culture-war.html\"><span>Dr. Erica Anderson<\/span><\/a><span> as well as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/stream.org\/i-warned-that-doctors-were-experimenting-with-transgender-children-now-a-leading-transgender-doctor-is-sounding-the-alarm\/\"><span>Dr. Marci Bowers<\/span><\/a><span>, who performed the sex-change surgery on Jazz Jennings. This is quite ironic given Dr. Bowers\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/E1o2Im6t6Mo\"><span>responses to me<\/span><\/a><span> back in 2009 on \u201cThe Tyra Banks Show.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Newgent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/we-need-balance-when-it-comes-gender-dysphoric-kids-i-would-know-opinion-1567277\"><span>wrote<\/span><\/a><span> in February 2021, \u201cno\u00a0long-term\u00a0studies have been conducted on children who grow up without the benefit of natural puberty. No studies at all have been done on de-transitioners (people who return to identifying as their natal sex). What are the psychological effects? No one has a clue, and researchers are too often\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-4979498\/James-Caspian-attacked-transgender-children-comments.html\"><span>shut down by cancel culture<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0for even raising the questions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The question, again, is why?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One answer is compassion. People really care about trans-identified kids and want to help them find a better life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The problem with that answer is that compassion would also listen carefully to the stories of those seeking to detransition, such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.persuasion.community\/p\/keira-bell-my-story?s=r\"><span>Keira Bell<\/span><\/a><span>. Additionally, compassion would not seek to muzzle people like Newgent. (Kellie told me she frequently gets death threats and death wishes from others in the LGBTQ+ community.) Further, are the healthcare providers in countries like Finland and Sweden lacking compassion when they call for caution? To the contrary, it is compassion, coupled with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepublicdiscourse.com\/2020\/09\/71296\/\"><span>medical science<\/span><\/a><span>, that is moving them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>What, then, is driving this radical ideology in the U.S.?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In my view, one answer is the radical ideology itself. This is a cultural battle, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/josephmattera.org\/is-society-heading-towards-gender-neutrality-and-trans-humanism\/\"><span>fundamental attack<\/span><\/a><span> on God creating us male and female, a rebellion against the gender binary. Hence, care for the children is not the ultimate goal (although that may be the case for some). <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/askdrbrown.org\/library\/why-have-leftists-replaced-black-rights-gay-rights-and-women-s\"><span>Pushing an ideology<\/span><\/a><span> is the driving force.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Others point to greed as the motivating factor, as every trans-identified child becomes a potential patient for life, amounting to millions of dollars in hormone prescriptions and surgeries. Never underestimate the power of greed! (Remember 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV), which states that \u201cthe love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.\u201d)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Could that be another major contributing factor?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Writing for the New York Times<\/span> <span>on April 13, Ross Douthat made this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/13\/opinion\/transgender-culture-war.html\"><span>prediction<\/span><\/a><span>: \u201cWithin not too short a span of time, not only conservatives but most liberals will recognize that we have been running an experiment on trans-identifying youth without good or certain evidence, inspired by ideological motives rather than scientific rigor, in a way that future generations will regard as a grave medical-political scandal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhich means that if you are a liberal who believes as much already, but you don\u2019t feel comfortable saying it, your silence will eventually become your regret.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. McHugh put it even more sharply in a 2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/standing-against-psychiatrys-crazes-11556920766\"><span>interview<\/span><\/a><span>: \u201cEither the plastic surgeons and the transgender psychiatrists are right and I\u2019m wrong \u2014 and if that\u2019s the case, they will have done a lot of good by opposing me, and I will have been a drag on the system \u2014or the opposite. Suppose they\u2019re wrong and I\u2019m right? They will have mutilated thousands of children, and I will look good. Who do you think is sleeping better at night?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Douthat and McHugh are exactly right, which is why now is the time for Americans, with one voice, to put a stop to this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/sociological-contagion-and-the-growing-non-binary-movement\"><span>barbaric attack<\/span><\/a><span> on our children, from the classroom to the hospital and from social media to the courts.
