Now following the announcement that Bure is heading to GAC Network, it\u2019s been revealed that there are no plans for the actress to continue starring in Hallmark productions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The reason for this, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/candace-cameron-bure-hallmark-channel-gac-family-aurora-teagarden-1699267\"><span>Newsweek<\/span><\/a><span>, is financial. Apparently, GAC offered the 46-year-old star a \u201cprominent executive role\u201d with their organization in an attempt to compete with Hallmark for family-friendly content. The push is being led by GAC head Bill Abbott, who previously worked with Bure when he was President &#038; CEO of Crown Media, who owns the Hallmark Channel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It\u2019s worth noting that Hallmark was criticized for a lack of diversity in their programming while Abbott was leading. It wasn\u2019t until he left that the channel released its first Christmas movie featuring a same-sex couple. Abbott moved to GAC with the intention to create \u201ca family-friendly programming destination of broad appeal based on traditional values,\u201d The New York Times <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/topic\/new-york-times\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>. In a statement, Abbott said his mission was to \u201cdeliver on the promise of safe and entertaining storytelling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The actress did praise Hallmark\u2019s new focus on diverse storytelling, at least publicly. She <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/candace-cameron-bure-hallmark-lack-of-diversity-2021-11\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> Insider in November 2021 that the changes made sense because all families look \u201cso different.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHallmark has definitely made changes in that direction, which we are all very, very happy to see,\u201d Bure said at the time. \u201cit\u2019s important to represent all people and all of their journeys and their family dynamics.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bure didn\u2019t sign an exclusive contract with GAC, but rather is choosing to end her tenure at Hallmark for now. In addition to starring in all 18 movies of the \u201cThe Aurora Teagarden Mysteries\u201d film series, the actress was a big part of the network\u2019s \u201cCountdown to Christmas\u201d content. She appeared in 11 holiday movies over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The \u201cFull House\u201d alum said in a statement, \u201cI\u2019m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cGAC fits my brand perfectly,\u201d she continued. \u201c[W]e share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bure isn\u2019t the only former Hallmark star making the move to GAC. Variety <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/candace-cameron-bure-won-t-194228284.html\"><span>shared<\/span><\/a><span> that other recognizable faces including Trevor Donovan, Jen Lilley, and Danica McKellar recently signed deals with the company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/full-house-star-candace-cameron-bure-to-create-and-star-in-faith-filled-wholesome-content-for-the-whole-family\"><span>Abbott released a statement<\/span><\/a><span> Tuesday discussing how happy he was to be working with Bure again.
