Ted Cruz\u2019s wife, Heidi Cruz, as saying, \u201cTed Does Not Tan His Testicles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Verdict: False<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The image is digitally fabricated. There is no evidence Fox News aired this chyron or that Heidi Cruz made such a remark.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a promotional clip for Tucker Carlson\u2019s new show, \u201cTucker Carlson Originals: The End of Men,\u201d the idea of \u201ctesticle tanning\u201d was mentioned as a potential way to increase testosterone, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/tucker-carlson-testicle-tanning-misleading-health-experts-1698978\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Newsweek<\/a>. Shortly after this, an image of a Fox News chyron alluding to the subject began spreading on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The image shows what appears to be a photo of Ted Cruz\u2019s wife, Heidi Cruz, along with a Fox News chyron that quotes her as saying, \u201cTed Does Not Tan His Testicles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy nomination for \u2018Chyron of the Month,&#8217;\u201d reads text included in one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/james.a.day.7\/posts\/10216876656143660\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iteration<\/a> of the post. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/01\/25\/fact-check-fox-news-joe-biden-president-400000-americans-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Fox News Report That \u2018Joe Biden Has Been President For Nine Hours And 400,000 Americans Are Dead\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The image is digitally fabricated. The picture of Heidi Cruz is photoshopped to make her appear older. The original picture, captured by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/news-photo\/republican-presidential-candidate-sen-ted-cruz-announces-news-photo\/527850712?adppopup=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Getty Images<\/a>, shows the senator\u2019s wife in 2016 shortly after Ted Cruz suspended his presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The news chyron is digitally edited as well. A reverse image search revealed the creation could be traced to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NotHoodlum\/status\/1516045356928315392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter account<\/a> with the Disclaimer, \u201cCommentary, Satire Emeritus,\u201d in its <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NotHoodlum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No discussion of Heidi Cruz\u2019s alleged quote can be seen on Fox News\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/search-results\/search?q=heidi%20cruz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> or verified <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=heidi%20cruz%20(from%3Afoxnews)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/15704546335\/search\/?q=heidi%20cruz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/foxnews\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a>. The graphic does not <a href=\"https:\/\/grabien.com\/clipsbank.php?transcript=ted%20does%20not%20tan&#038;sources=Fox%20News%20Channel%20(FNC)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appear<\/a> in the video clip editing service Grabien\u2019s database of Fox News coverage.
