The guidance is in stark contrast to recent HHS recommendations <a href=\"https:\/\/opa.hhs.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2022-03\/gender-affirming-care-young-people-march-2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">endorsing<\/a> biomedical interventions, including <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/09\/alabama-sex-change-transgender-children-aclu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">surgeries<\/a>, for children.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Today, the Florida Department of Health released guidance pushing back on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HHSGov?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HHSGov<\/a> unscientific shift in the treatment of gender dysphoria for children and adolescents.<\/p>\n<p>The press release is available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JsE4HcYOUD\">https:\/\/t.co\/JsE4HcYOUD<\/a>\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vmWQhBsaai\">pic.twitter.com\/vmWQhBsaai<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Florida Dept. of Health (@HealthyFla) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HealthyFla\/status\/1516769882683195395?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 20, 2022<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe point is to give doctors the tools to make the best decisions for their patients,\u201d Jeremy Redfern, press secretary for the Florida Department of Health, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. \u201cThat\u2019s especially important now that the federal government is pressuring doctors to perform irreversible medical procedures on children despite a lack of evidence for their effectiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The guidance comes weeks after <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/31\/joe-biden-hhs-child-sex-changes-transgender\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden\u2019s HHS<\/a> endorsed \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d for youths, including puberty blockers, hormones and surgeries.<\/p>\n<p>Cross sex hormones, puberty blockers, hormone therapy and social gender transitions should not be administered to children to treat gender dysphoria, the Florida guidance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridahealth.gov\/newsroom\/2022\/04\/20220420-gender-dysphoria-press-release.pr.html\">stated<\/a>, noting that 80% of those seeking clinical care for gender dysphoria will lose their desire to identify as the opposite sex.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, young people who experience persistent gender confusion should receive social support from peers and family as well as professional counseling, the guidance advises. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/06\/transgender-activism-pharmaceutical-studies-children\/\">(RELATED: Trans Activists Funded By Big Pharma Push Biased Research Promoting Medical Transitions For Children)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">To transgender Americans of all ages, I want you to know that you are so brave.
