Jahana Hayes, who was caught paying her family tens of thousands of dollars since entering Congress after the Daily Caller reviewed FEC records, has continued to pay her children with campaign funds and reimbursed herself for \u201cpetty cash,\u201d possibly breaking the law.<\/p>\n<p>In February, the Daily Caller <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/01\/fec-records-jahana-hayes-campaign-funds-family-david-crenshaw-asia-clermont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first reported<\/a>\u00a0that during Q4 2021, Hayes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/disbursements\/?data_type=processed&#038;committee_id=C00677898&#038;recipient_name=david+crenshaw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">used her campaign fund<\/a>, called \u201cFriends of Jahana Hayes,\u201d to pay her son $15,118.54 since entering Congress.<\/p>\n<p>The Q4 FEC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/disbursements\/?data_type=processed&#038;committee_id=C00677898&#038;recipient_name=david+crenshaw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">records<\/a>, reviewed by the Daily Caller, show that Hayes paid over $15,000 in increments of $282.47 each to a person with the name \u201cDavid Crenshaw\u201d under the category of \u201cPayroll.\u201d In 2018, the Hartford Courant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newspapers.com\/image\/513601219\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.newspapers.com\/image\/513601219\/&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1650482135072000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2POvEs_8BMaUPY-Yln_lWl\">reported<\/a>\u00a0Hayes\u2019 son David Crenshaw, age 24, joined Hayes to celebrate her Congressional victory.<\/p>\n<p>During Q4 2021, \u201cFriends of Jahana Hayes\u201d paid Hayes\u2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newstimes.com\/news\/article\/Hayes-seeks-to-go-from-classroom-to-Congress-in-12961523.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">daughter<\/a>\u00a0Asia Clermont $2,551.41 from her campaign fund in increments of $359.25 each, and since entering Congress, she has paid her daughter $21,299.03.<\/p>\n<p>Despite scrutiny for paying her adult children tens of thousands of dollars to store passwords on her campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/docquery.fec.gov\/cgi-bin\/forms\/C00677898\/1585329\/sb\/ALL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Q1 FEC records<\/a> show Hayes is still paying her daughter Asia Clermont upwards of $700 per month.<\/p>\n<p>Q1 is from Jan. 1 through March 31 of 2022. (Photo by Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Since Daily Caller\u2019s reporting, Hayes has <a href=\"https:\/\/ctmirror.org\/2022\/02\/01\/jahana-hayes-challenger-calls-for-probe-of-her-childrens-role-in-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">faced<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtnh.com\/news\/politics\/some-raise-questions-about-rep-jahana-hayes-decision-to-hire-her-two-children-as-campaign-staffers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">heat<\/a>\u00a0from local media, with some\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LzwlOPyJ7HI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">raising questions<\/a> about her children\u2019s involvement. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/03\/jahana-hayes-paying-family-thousands-campaign-funds-money-spent-manage-passwords\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Dem Rep. Who Was Caught Paying Family Thousands Of Campaign Funds Says Money Spent To Manage Passwords, Calendar)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Republican Connecticut candidate George Logan then\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ctmirror.org\/2022\/02\/01\/jahana-hayes-challenger-calls-for-probe-of-her-childrens-role-in-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/ctmirror.org\/2022\/02\/01\/jahana-hayes-challenger-calls-for-probe-of-her-childrens-role-in-campaign\/&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1643995240965000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2cTPf2jJQ71Tp29yc_zfWR\">immediately called on<\/a> the House Committee on Ethics to investigate the legitimacy of Hayes\u2019 children\u2019s employment. <u><\/u><u><\/u>Barbara Ellis, the manager of Hayes\u2019 reelection campaign, said Hayes\u2019 daughter handles campaign scheduling for her mother and Hayes\u2019 son does digital and tech support.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller contacted Hayes\u2019 office about the recent payments to her family and about reimbursement to herself, to which they did not immediately respond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Democratic Connecticut Rep.
