A Time Magazine spokesperson confirmed the outlet did not publish such a cover.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Zelenskyy requested further aid from allies April 14 in the midst of Russia\u2019s ongoing attacks, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-61107725\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a>. The Ukrainian leader warned that Russia has begun to conduct military operations in the Donbas region of Ukraine as part of its invasion, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/3272235-zelensky-says-russia-has-started-battle-for-donbas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hill<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/Hq4o9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">image<\/a> allegedly shows a Time Magazine cover, dated April 25, dedicated to Zelenskyy. \u201cLadimir Elensky refused to use letters V and Z in his name and surname,\u201d reads text included on the alleged cover. \u201cAs a token of support our office publishes this news piece without letters \u2018Z\u2019 and \u2018V.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cover is digitally fabricated. A search of Time\u2019s online <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/vault\/year\/2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cover vault<\/a> reveals the <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/magazine\/us\/6167001\/april-25th-2022-vol-199-no-15-u-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">April 25 cover<\/a> features Major League Baseball player Shohei Ohtani, not Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian leader is not featured on any of the current 2022 covers. The alleged cover also does not appear on the magazine\u2019s verified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/10606591490\/search\/?q=volodymyr%20zelenskyy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=volodymyr%20zelenskyy%20(from%3Atime)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> pages. There are no reports on the outlet\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/search\/?q=Ladimir+Elensky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> about Zelenskyy changing the way he spells his name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis image is not an authentic <span class=\"il\">TIME<\/span> cover,\u201d said a Time Magazine spokesperson in an email to Check Your Fact.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/02\/28\/fact-check-putin-hitler-time-magazine-cover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show A Genuine Time Magazine Cover Related To The invasion Of Ukraine?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While Time Magazine has not featured Zelenskyy on any cover, the outlet did publish a March 2 <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6154139\/volodymyr-zelensky-ukraine-profile-russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> titled, \u201cHow Volodymyr Zelensky Defended Ukraine and United the World.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time a fake Time Magazine cover has gone viral. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/02\/28\/fact-check-putin-hitler-time-magazine-cover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Check Your Fact<\/a> recently debunked an alleged cover that featured Russian President Vladimir Putin and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An image shared on Facebook purportedly shows a Time Magazine cover featuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.Verdict: False The cover is digitally fabricated.
