I completely support everyone determining what\u2019s best for their individual circumstances and recognize the value of vaccines. Simply put, my Covid vaccination decision is very specific to my personal medical history. I appreciate my colleagues, particularly my production staff and my fellow commentators, for their support and flexibility. NFL fans are the most passionate in all of sports and I can\u2019t wait for another great NFL Draft.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I am looking forward to being part of the 2022 NFL Draft, my 39th for ESPN <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/C5ea9NjdqK\">pic.twitter.com\/C5ea9NjdqK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mel Kiper Jr. (@MelKiperESPN) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MelKiperESPN\/status\/1516152135058178060?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 18, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Kiper Jr. has been covering the NFL Draft since 1984, becoming the go-to analyst for draft coverage ever since. This year\u2019s draft will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas starting April 28.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/espn-reporter-wont-be-on-college-football-sidelines-after-choosing-to-not-get-vaccinated\"><span>The Daily Wire<\/span><\/a><span> reported in September, the Walt Disney company \u2014 which owns ESPN \u2014 mandated that employees receive the vaccine before September 30th or face termination. (Disclosure: The Daily Wire has announced plans for children\u2019s entertainment content.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cEmployees who aren\u2019t already vaccinated and are working on-site will have 60 days from today to complete their protocols and any employees still working from home will need to provide verification of vaccination prior to their return, with certain limited exceptions,\u201d Disney <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/espn-reporter-wont-work-football-games-in-2021-after-choosing-to-not-get-vaccinated-while-trying-for-second-child-200900072.html\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> in its statement announcing the new requirement. \u201cVaccines are the best tool we all have to help control this global pandemic and protect our employees.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In September, ESPN anchor Sage Steele called the mandate \u201csick\u201d in a podcast appearance with former NFL QB Jay Cutler.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI work for a company that mandates it and I had until September 30th to get it done or I\u2019m out,\u201d Steele <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/espns-sage-steele-rips-companys-sick-vaccine-policy\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI respect everyone\u2019s decision, I really do, but to mandate it is sick and it\u2019s scary to me in many ways,\u201d she continued. \u201cI just, I\u2019m not surprised it got to this point, especially with Disney, I mean a global company like that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Steele later apologized, saying that she knew her comments \u201ccreated controversy for the company.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In October, The Daily Wire announced the hiring of <\/span><span>former ESPN sports reporter Allison Williams to lead a special sports series that will be available exclusively for Daily Wire members.\u00a0<\/span><span>Williams announced that she would be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/espn-reporter-wont-be-on-college-football-sidelines-after-choosing-to-not-get-vaccinated\">leaving<\/a> ESPN in September after choosing to not take the COVID-19 vaccine due to her desire to have a second child.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>Joe Morgan is the Sports Reporter for The Daily Wire.
