Amtrak likewise <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/amtrak-removes-mask-mandate-for-passengers-employees\"><span>ended<\/span><\/a><span> its mandate, encouraging passengers to wear masks as an \u201coptional preventative measure.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A Monday statement from the Biden administration <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-administration-responds-to-florida-federal-judge-voiding-national-mask-mandate-on-airplanes\"><span>announced<\/span><\/a><span> that officials will be considering \u201cpotential next steps,\u201d while admitting that the CDC\u2019s masking order is no longer in effect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe agencies are reviewing the decision and assessing potential next steps,\u201d an administration official <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PhilipWegmann\/status\/1516174890839298053\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cIn the meantime, today\u2019s court decision means CDC\u2019s public transportation masking order is not in effect at this time. Therefore, TSA will not enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs at this time. CDC recommends that people continue to wear masks in indoor public transportation settings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When pressed on the administration\u2019s approach to masking policies by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy on Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/psaki-snaps-im-not-a-doctor-when-pressed-on-white-house-masking-policy\"><span>snapped<\/span><\/a><span> that she is \u201cnot a doctor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYou said about this mask ruling out of a federal court in Florida that it\u2019s a \u2018disappointing decision,\u2019 and you say you continue to recommend that people wear masks,\u201d Doocy said. \u201cWhy is it that we can sit here in the White House briefing room with no masks, but people can\u2019t sit in an airplane cabin with no masks?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWell, Peter, I\u2019m not a doctor,\u201d Psaki replied. \u201cYou\u2019re not a doctor \u2014 that I\u2019m aware of.\u00a0 If you\u2019re a doctor, I wasn\u2019t aware of that today \u2014 until today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cCan confirm,\u201d Doocy replied.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOkay, not a doctor,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cJust making sure. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSome people can still wear a mask if they want to \u2014 many people do \u2014 or wear them in meetings or wear them at certain times where you\u2019re going to be around or sitting close to people, or maybe you have an immunocompromised parent or \u2014 or friend,\u201d Psaki added. \u201cAnd so people make that decision.
