I don\u2019t know what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tweet mocks actor and convicted race hoaxer Jussie Smollett\u2019s claim that he was attacked by Trump supporters in Chicago who screamed, \u201cThis is MAGA country!\u201d It also pokes fun at liberals\u2019 routine of using their children to make a political point, typically with unbelievable stories.<\/p>\n<p>For good measure, Rabel added that his \u201ccash app\u201d was in his bio if anyone wanted to donate to his son\u2019s \u201clegal defense fund,\u201d since Rabel would be \u201csuing for\u00a0intentional infliction of emotional distress.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Wow so this blew up, cash app is in the bio for my son\u2019s legal defense fun. We are suing for intentional infliction of emotional distress<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jared Rabel (@JradRabel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JradRabel\/status\/1516251205114241025?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 19, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>New York Times journalist Victoria Kim, though, was on the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHi Jared, I\u2019m a New York Times journalist, I\u2019d love to speak to you over the phone about what happened on your flight this evening,\u201d Kim messaged Rabel. \u201cCan you please give me a call at [redacted] or let me know how I can reach you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rabel publicly posted his reply, too, telling the reporter her contacting him about a clearly satirical post made him question how many untrue accounts the Times has reported on in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHello Victoria, I would love to discuss the incident at your earliest convenience,\u201d Rabel wrote to Kim. \u201cI was pretty upset about the whole thing. Unfortunately it\u2019s satire that only someone at the NYT would believe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my time of contemplation, I was wondering how your team deals with the multitude of false stories that you peddle out daily to use as political propaganda,\u201d Rabel slammed the Times.<\/p>\n<p>He also asked Kim if she \u201ccould give me advice on how to take my satire to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a follow-up tweet, Rabel added, \u201cFor those asking, this is 100% legit.
