Marjorie Taylor Greene from running for re-election on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The judge, Amy Totenberg, denied Greene\u2019s request for a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order against the voters, The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/18\/us\/politics\/marjorie-taylor-greene-jan-6.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. In a 73-page ruling, Totenberg said <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/19\/twitter-suspends-marjorie-taylor-greene-error\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Greene<\/a> did not meet the \u201cburden of persuasion\u201d in her injunctive relief.<\/p>\n<p>The group, represented by the nonpartisan Free Speech for People, has cited Greene\u2019s alleged involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot, The New York Times reported. The disqualification effort is based on a post-Civil War era constitutional provision that prohibited members of the Confederacy from holding office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis case involves a whirlpool of colliding constitutional interests of public import,\u201d the ruling said. \u201cThe novelty of the factual and historical posture of this case\u2014especially when assessed in the context of a preliminary injunction motion reviewed on a fast track\u2014has made resolution of the complex legal issues at stake here particularly demanding.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/23\/trump-january-6-riot-meadows-bannon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Jan. 6 Committee Issues First Subpoenas To Four Trump Aides, Allies)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Totenberg was appointed by former President Barack Obama to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District for Georgia, according to The New York Times.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">BREAKING: We just won a federal court ruling in Atlanta allowing Georgia voters to challenge Rep. He said the effort strips voters of the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.<\/p>\n<p>Ron Fein, the legal director for Free Speech for People, celebrated Totenberg\u2019s decision. He said the group will question Greene on the Jan. 6 riots at an upcoming Friday hearing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge Totenberg\u2019s well-reasoned opinion explains why the Georgia voters who filed this challenge against Greene have the right to have their challenge heard, and why none of Greene\u2019s objections to the Georgia state challenge have any merit,\u201d he said. \u201cAt the hearing on Friday, we look forward to questioning Greene under oath about her involvement in the events of Jan. 6, and to demonstrating how her facilitation of the insurrection disqualifies her from public office under the United States Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A judge <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/04\/judge-blocks-ballot-run-cawthorn-north-carolina-free-speech-for-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blocked<\/a> Free Speech for People\u2019s effort to disqualify Republican North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn from the state\u2019s ballot in March. In that decision, U.S. District Judge Richard E.
