As part of the initiative, called Stories Matter, Disney added Disclaimers to classic movies for containing \u201cnegative depictions or mistreatment of people or cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Stories Matter team privately flagged certain characters as potentially problematic, with the findings distributed to senior Disney leaders,\u00a0two current Disney executive told the <em>Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>One of them was Tinker Bell, who raised concern because she is \u201cbody conscious\u201d and jealous of Peter Pan\u2019s attention, according to the executives. \u00a0Captain Hook was another potential liability because he could expose Disney to accusations of discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities because he is a villain.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><em><strong>Watch below:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Disney also flagged Ursula the Sea Witch from <em>The Little Mermaid<\/em>, saying her dark complexion could be construed as racist and her flamboyant mannerisms could come across as \u201cqueer coded,\u201d or homophobic.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>As Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2019\/11\/12\/disney-slaps-trigger-warnings-on-dumbo-lady-and-the-tramp-over-outdated-cultural-depictions\/\">reported<\/a>, Disney launched the streaming service with social justice trigger warnings slapped on its classic movies, including\u00a0<em>Dumbo, Swiss Family Robinson, Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier<\/em>, and the original <em>Lady and the Tramp,<\/em>\u00a0saying the films may contain \u201coutdated cultural depictions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Follow David <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Ng on Twitter\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HeyItsDavidNg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">@HeyItsDavidNg<\/a>.
